What a beaut area this is: Camping La Beaume is near Esparron-de-Verdon in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region of southeastern France, close to jaw-droppingly scenic sights like the Verdon Gorges and popular regional picks such as the spa town of Gréoux-les-Bains.
A lake with beaches is a couple of kilometres away, or might you prefer to wander, pedal or gently drive around a landscape of lavender fields and handsome Provençal villages during your (recommended) few weeks here instead…?
The friendly team at La Beaume have all sorted on site for guests to get peaceful in Provence: there's a heated covered pool, a playground, a pétanque court, a restaurant and entertainment and activities organised during July and August.
Other facilities include showers and toilets, a washing-up area, a launderette, disabled amenities and free wifi.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

Follow it through Gréoux-les-Bains, Saint-Martin-de-Brômes and Esparron-de-Verdon and keep going until you see the campsite signposted to your left-hand side.
Camping La Beaume's local village is Esparron-de-Verdon, set on the edge of a beach-lined lake at the entrance to the lower Verdon gorges.
Have a look at the town castle and its tenth century castle, or get active on and around Lake Esparron: sailing, windsurfing, rowing, canoeing and boats of motor and pedal are all available, along with fishing, tennis, horse riding and mountain biking.
And speaking of the Verdon gorges… Several days should be spent around these lovely landscapes that line the five lakes of Esparron, Quinson, Artignosc, Sainte-Croix and Castillon, whether you fancy paragliding among its spectacular scenery, watching vultures and other birds soaring above, or traversing the local walking trails like the Sentier Martel and the Route des Crètes.
Also most certainly take time to see as many as poss of the area's preserved Provençal villages such as Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Riez, Gréoux-les-Bains and Castellane, taking in too Provençal culinary specialties such as tapenade, olive oil, aubergine caviar and excellently tasty aîoli.
