General
- In the 16th arrondissement of Paris with shuttle bus to the city
- Four kilometres from the Jardin d'Acclimatation
- Café-restaurant, communal lodge and campervan service area
Most travellers around the world hanker after a trip to Paris. Most travellers hanker to save maximum dosh on holiday too, all the better to have extra euros to spend on French cuisine and vino.
If both these types of traveller are you, you'll be mighty chuffed with the setting of Camping de Paris, in the 16th arrondissement of the city and with shuttle buses straight from the site to and from Porte Maillot metro station. Buy tickets and check out the bus times at the site reception, open from 7am until 10pm; tourist info on attractions for all tastes is in this part of the site too, along with free internet points and wifi.
Camping de Paris is well set up for that for lazy days on site too: take yourself off to the central lodge for a day or evening in, to watch telly, play snooker or table football, challenge your lesser half to a board game, or curl up in a corner with a book on the region from the site library.
In between dining out in Paris, you'll have an excellent range of foodie options on site, including a café-restaurant selling salads, homemade pizzas, grilled meats, pasta and drinks to have on its terrace. A grocery shop is open 365 days a year and a morning bread and croissant service is available, so you can order goodies in advance to munch in the morning or bag up in a packed lunch.
Also around to keep you occupied are a playground, ping pong tables and summer bike hire – and if your wheels need some TLC, a campervan service area is available for your convenience too.

Local attractions
To Paris! France's spectacular capital is of course famed throughout the world for its sights and vibe, so prepare to spend as much time here as poss getting through as many of its attractions as you can. (On one trip, anyway; you could always come back...)
If you're after a peaceful or watery time in or around Paris, wander along the banks of the Seine for a teeny part of its 777-kilometre length (a new walkway, from Tuileries Garden to the Bastille, opened in early 2017), or set off on boat trips on the lakes of Bois de Boulogne, the big public park along the western edge of the 16th arrondissement.
For green times, potter around the botanical gardens of Bagatelle, two kilometres from the site, or investigate the Jardin d'Acclimatation park and amusement park, also in the Bois de Boulogne and home to a kids' art museum, science museum, puppet theatre, miniature golf, pony rides and a narrow-gauge train.
