  • Luxury pods 10 minutes’ drive from Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales
  • Bolton Abbey 20 minutes’ drive and Malham Cove 25 minutes
  • Well-equipped kitchenettes; welcome pack provided; safe bike storage
If you’ve got your heart set on a Yorkshire Dales National Park holiday full of little luxuries and comfort, have a serious look at Coxons Farm Glamping Pods. Set on a working sheep and beef farm, the modern pods offer cosy stays in which to put your feet up and absorb the spectacular Dales views – that’s when you’re not nipping out to well-known spots such as Grassington (10 minutes’ drive) and Malham Cove (25 minutes). Accommodation is in nattily decked out pods; each is fully insulated, with double glazed and underfloor heating to keep you cosy, no matter what’s going on outside. Comfy mod cons include an ensuite bathroom and double bed (all linen and bedding provided), a pull-out sofa bed (ideal for the kids), a fully equipped kitchenette and a TV for quiet nights in. Thoughtful extras come in the shape of a welcome pack bulging with local produce, a secure area for bike/pushchair storage, electric sockets for charging your devices and a drying room for your clothes on the days when the weather is doing its worst. The local village of Cracoe (five minutes) has a farm shop, traditional Dales pub and a brace of cafés. For bigger shopping sprees, head for the supermarkets of Skipton (10 minutes).

Liked: Hi, I am writing this because my partner and I have throughly enjoyed the stay. It’s truly brilliant! Very beautiful place, well maintained with a lot of hygiene. It’s worth spending money for to be honest. Mr Tom was very generous and kind to us throughout our trip. It’s simple, adventurous, peaceful, overall it made us happier. Very nicely planned pod with campfire facility along with barbecue equipment. Ideal place for nature lovers. I truly admire this place for anyone who wants to see beautiful sceneries, meet kind people, it’s a go to place. I have already informed my friends about the place and brought back loads of memories. At last I would like to say one thing, it feels like home with such nice people around :) we would like to visit again near future for sure :)

Local attractions

Tick off Dales sights like the Augustinian priory at Bolton Abbey (20 minutes’ drive), where you can cross the River Wharfe by stepping stones, or drop into Grassington (10 minutes), home to unusual shops and location of scenes from All Creatures Great and Small (filming usually takes place in spring). See the extraordinary natural rocky amphitheatre at Malham Cove (25 minutes), and follow the steep path up the cliffside to hike across the limestone pavement to Malham Tarn (an hour’s walk). From quiet rural lanes to craggy climbs, there are also walks for all abilities right from the pods. Clamber up to Rylstone Cross war memorial (40 minutes, you can see it from home base) for views over Wharfedale, or follow the track up to Boss Moor (50 minutes). Have a gentle stroll alongside the River Wharf to Burnsall (90 minutes each way), enjoying a refreshment stop at the village’s popular waterside pub. Epic cycling trails include the Way of the Roses (five minutes by bike), and you can conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge (Ingleborough is the closest at 40 minutes’ drive), try fly fishing at Kilnsey Park (10 minutes), or go trekking with llamas and alpacas at Nidderdale Llamas (half an hour).
