  • El Poble Nou del Delta glamping between the coast and a lagoon
  • On the edge of Delta de l’Ebre Natural Park for walks and watersports
  • Restaurant, shop and tennis on site; Trabucador beach close by
Nature lovers, gather round – this Catalonia glamping site is one for you. Kampaoh Delta del Ebro is entirely surrounded by natural landscapes, with the coast on one side and the wildlife-filled Llacuna de la Tancada on the other. A stay here means that you'll really be able to immerse yourselves in nature, perhaps taking a walk around the lake to see if you can spot the flamingos or strolling along to Trabucador beach (three kilometres away) for a day of sunbathing or kitesurfing. Just a little further away are the trails of Delta de l’Ebre Natural Park and the remote beaches of the Punta de la Banya peninsula. In fact, this whole area has something of a wild and remote feeling – but the setup on site is far from wild, as you’ll be staying in smart glamping tents suitable for couples, families or small groups of friends. Tents have been kitted out with lots of the things you'll need for a comfortable stay, including beds, bed linen, mosquito nets and a cool box. Bathrooms (with toilets and showers) are a short stroll away. With the tents tucked away in the cool shade of the trees, it may well be that much of your time on site is spent simply chilling out with a drink and/or a book. You can pick up drinks and snacks at the site shop, or settle in for a bigger meal at the restaurant. For those who’d like a bit more activity, a tennis court and miniature golf course are on site. More shops and places to eat are three kilometres away in El Poble Nou del Delta.

Local attractions

Exploring your natural surroundings is likely to be your main focus – and you can do that on foot, by bike (with bike hire and tours available nearby), in kayaks or on boat trips. Activity centres can also sort you out with days of surfing, kitesurfing and other watersports. Heading a little further afield, you can have a nice change of scenery with a wander around the outdoor sculptures at Arte-Contemporary and a trip to the mussel farms in La Ràpita (15 minutes’ drive). La Galera (half an hour) and Ulldecona (35 minutes) are also nice for a stroll through historic streets, and in the city of Amposta (20 minutes) you can take a walk along the banks of the River Ebro. Further away again, but worth the trip, is Tarragona (an hour) – the city is well known for its Roman sites and archaeology museum, and it’s also home to the theme parks of PortAventura World.
