If you're in need of a spot of Bell Sol right next to the sea on Spain's spectacular Maresme coast, this is a smashing seaside site with loads in the way of family entertainment. Kids certainly won't complain of boredom at Camping Bell Sol – even outside of peak season, they've got a playground, ping pong tables and a football pitch to tire themselves out at, and during July and August there's a packed activity programme of family activities, live entertainment and outdoor games. For the grownups, there's an outdoor pool, summer aqua gym classes and, as evening falls, the site bar for a boozy bev or two; just off site (a few minutes' walk away), are sandy strolls, swims and suitably relaxing sunbathes at the local beach. In high season, the site's foodie facilities have things pretty well covered as well: pick up your morning bread from the bakery to fuel up ahead of a coffee at the café, or choose to be waited on at the light and airy restaurant. The site restaurant is closed on weekday evenings, but Pineda de Mar has an excellent selection of restaurants, tapas bars and family-run seafood restaurants serving up reasonably priced local dishes. The nightlife is laidback here too; if you're after a more upbeat night out, just nip over to the neighbouring resort of Lloret de Mar. Facilities on site also include a launderette, wifi service (buy tickets at reception) and bathrooms with showers, accessible facilities and baby baths.

Disliked: Being next to a building site. Being crammed in like sardines. Designated areas should be arranged for families because we had a family of 5 children riding bicycles next to our van.

Liked: Good location 20 mins walk to Calella, which was quite a nice town, good shops, restaurants and bars. Site was clean, pitches reasonable size and close to beach and convenient for train station to Barcelona. Good cycle route along the sea front for about 6-7 mile. Reception staff friendly and spoke good English Wifi was good

Disliked: Lots of permanent tents and vans unoccupied which made the site look a rough.

Local attractions

Camping Bell Sol is well placed for beach and city options, as well as the occasional jaunt up into the mountains. The main beach of Pineda de Mar, accessed via an underpass opposite the site entrance, is an award-winning stretch of golden sand, which even in the height of summer doesn’t get too overcrowded. From here scuba divers can take a trip out to the Medes Islands, a protected maritime area where the scuba diving is rumoured to be rather outstanding. The seaside towns of Malgrat de Mar, Blanes and Loret de Mar are all less than 20 kilometres north along the coast, and the larger coastal spots of Mataro, Badalona, Barcelona and Girona are within an hour's drive south. As you're also around an hour's drive from two huge natural parks – Sierra de Marina and Collserola – hiking and mountain biking trails around the area's forests and hillsides are easy enough to get to from here too.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Extras

Facilities/activities including wifi are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

General

Entertainment and activities are available between 01/07 and 31/08.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
