Ocean Blue bell tent (five person)

Liked: Outstanding hosts!! Beautiful tents decked out with everything you could possibly want or need. Charging facilities in the tent. Solar or battery powered lights. Fantastic bbq as well as fire pit that you can cook on. Very central location. Great washing and toilet facilities. Really enjoyed coming 'back home' every evening! Highly recommend Bluedog. Thanks Gail, Paul and Gwen 🙌🏻

Disliked: Bit of noise from the A30 and the nearby train line.... but that was minor in comparison to the location. Plus, we were only aware of it because there were hardly any leaves on the trees and the foliage hadn't grown up around the Cornish hedge.

Bumblebee bell tent (four person)

Liked: Absolutely everything! Bluedog camping is amazing and I would recommend to anyone. Gail and Paul are so friendly, always on hand if you need them and we’re super helpful. The glamping pod itself is gorgeous, it so well thought out, Gail and Paul have gone above and beyond to make it feel so homely providing you with everything you need for your stay. The bed is comfy and cosy, the toilet and shower are spot on and everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. It’s dog friendly which was perfect for our 7 month old lab as he had the run of the place as it’s completely safe and secure to let him be a dog which he loved! It’s rare you find glamping pods which are dog friendly so this is a massive bonus! The garden area is also in the sun all day so it’s beautiful when the sun is shining. It’s also very close to little towns and villages for exploring during the day. The welcome pack of scones, cream and Prosecco as a really nice touch as well :). We would definitely come back and 100% would suggest this camping site to anyone. I would recommend taking layers as the pod gets quite chilly at night though! They do provide hot water bottles which were a life saver. Also no WiFi but 4G is very good in the area.

From the manager: Thank you So much for your wonderful review we are really pleased you had such a great time and hope to see you back again .Our campsite has been four years in the making, As a couple we have travelled a lot, and we had a very clear idea as to how we would like be treated , when we booked a site.I’ve taken then best of what we’ve experienced and added a personal twist. Bluedog Glamping is for everyone, humans and animals . This little haven in Treleigh has so much to offer and if we can, pass on the pleasure of the great outdoors with the luxury of Glamping thrown in we have achieved our goal. However, we will are already planning 2024 and aim to continue ensuring our guests have the best experience when they stay, both human and furry. We have many other ideas, so watch the glamping space. We strive continually to better everyone’s experience. Thank you Chelsea.

Local attractions

Surfers and water babies can get out on the waves from sandy beaches at Portreath and Porthtowan (both 10 minutes’ drive), while Godrevy (20 minutes) and Gwithian (15 minutes) are also popular with surfers and windsurfers. To see the coastline from a different perspective, join the South West Coast Path at Carvannel Downs (15 minutes) and hike soaring headlands with sea views. For fun days out with the kids, consider a day at Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall (20 minutes) for bird of prey flying displays, comical penguins to feed and a play barn for toddlers. To learn something about Cornwall’s mining heritage, traipse along to Cornwall Gold and Tolls Mill (five minutes), where you can pan for gold and peer into the last working Victorian tin mill in the county. Care for more Cornish mining history? Follow the hour-and-a-half stroll through lush Kennall Vale to Ponsanooth (both 15 minutes), passing the remains of waterwheels and granite gunpowder mills. To see what can be achieved on former industrial land, head for The Eden Project (50 minutes), where vast biomes filled with tropical plants are set in a former quarry.
