  • On a racecourse in stunning countryside at the edge of Fakenham
  • By the River Wensum; Blakeney and the coast within a 25-minute drive
  • Horse races, wifi and sports complex with golf, bar and restaurant
Fakenham Racecourse Camping and Caravan Site is a first-rate site well worth galloping towards for stays on well-kept grass lawns and among secluded gardens. And while this park in rural Norfolk may sound pristine, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, making it a top spot for unwinding. The location is a real draw too as it’s around a 10-minute walk from Fakenham’s town centre and it takes a little less time to wander down to the River Wensum for access to excellent walking and cycling routes through rural countryside. It’s also just a 25-minute drive to Blakeney in the stunning Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, home to vast sandy beaches and the jumping-off point for seal-watching boat trips. Not too fussed about exploring? Simply kick back on site browsing the free wifi while the kids and dogs nosey about in the grass areas. If you’re here for the racing, meets are organised from October to June and guests are more than welcome to stay overnight while they're on but will need to move from their pitch to the centre of the course on the day of the event. Not got any enthusiasm for equestrianism? Amuse yourself at the on-site Gallow Sports Centre’s nine-hole golf course, tennis court and squash court instead. There’s also a bar and restaurant for refuelling. Guests who stay for at least a couple of nights during a race meeting will get a free badge for the event. Bikes can be securely kept at the site.
