General

Situated by Trent Valley, the Vale of Belvoir and Sherwood Forest, Thornton’s Holt Camping Park is an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas. The park offers excellent onsite amenities, such as a large children’s play area, a games room and an indoor swimming pool. This family camping park can accommodate both caravans and tents on spacious, well maintained pitches and dogs are more than welcome as the owners agree that “they need a holiday too”.

  • Liked:

The pitches are well spaced with loads of room. Unfortunately we had neighbours whom sat out drinking & talking (which got louder/fouler with each drink) until 1am with little regard for children & adults in the surrounding caravans! The children enjoyed the free roaming chickens. The dogs had plenty running around space. The pool was ok although a bit chilly for younger children. We had a pretty windy weekend and the openness of the field it seemed worse than it actually was. The play area was fab, we had to drag the kids out each evening 😀

    Disliked:

Toilets and showers were gross. Pig stays converted, very old and seemingly nit cleaned often! 20p for a cold shower in a dirty cubicle seems rather steep. We won't return to this particular site in the future.
