What a spectacularly set Tuscany park. Surrounded by a shaded coastal pine forest in the Maremma region and welcoming guests for more than 50 years, Campeggio Maremma Sans Souci has loads to do within easy reach of its locale right by the sea on the coast of Tuscany. First up, it has direct access to its own private beach and lies three kilometres from the popular seaside spot of Castiglione della Pescaia. Next, it's close to the Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, between Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto, and near the archaeology of ancient Pitigliano and the springs of Massa Marittima. Walking and cycling trails are easy to find too – and you'll likely have figured out that this area is also prime wildlife watching territory (there are birds and the occasional visit from a local wild pig). The site can also organise bicycle rental and bicycle or trekking tours. If you're a watersports sort, the site has an area for surfers to dry their wetsuits and wash and hang out their sails after riding the waves. A watersports school is 10 minutes' drive away for sailing and windsurfing courses. Each pitch at this peaceful site is bordered by hedges, giving guests maximum privacy, and the grounds are surrounded by mature trees, providing shade from the sun. Fodder is sorted at the site’s snack bar, while something more substantial can be procured at the restaurant and pizzeria; alternatively, pick up stuff at the mini market for a barbecue. Kids can let off steam by building sandcastles on the nearby beach; handily, beach equipment is sold in the on-site bazaar shop, as well as postcards and souvenirs. Alternatively, take them to the playground. During the high season (June to September), there is an entertainment service with sports and other recreational activities for kids. There's also wifi in all areas, as well as a service area and a tourist information area.

Liked: la professionalità e gentilezza del personale in tutti gli ambienti, la possibiltà di soggiornare in bungalow con il nostro cane, la comodità dell'alloggio rispetto all'accesso al mare diretto ed ai servizi. ristorante ottimo.

Disliked: la presenza di tantissime zanzare ma che è dovuta probabilmente al fatto che la disinfestazione si attua a ridosso dell'estate.

Liked: Der Campinglplatz war im März geöffnet. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett. Es war sauber und ordentlich.

Disliked: Viel Gestrüpp zwischen den Bäumen. Das W-Lan war auch bei einem Stellplatz in direkter Nähe zur Rezeption sehr schlecht.

Liked: Wszystko ok, miejsca zacienione, blisko do plaży i sanitariatów z parceli. Jedną gwiazdkę odejmuje za bezpańskie koty, które chodzą po terenie campingu i nie można nic zostawić na zewnątrz ponieważ wyrządzają szkody mieszkańcom campingu. Powinien też być szerszy zasięg wifi najlepiej na całym terenie a nie tylko w wyznaczonej strefie.

Liked: Sehr Strand nah was für Leute die gerne unter mehreren Camper sein wollen, und war es zu viel.

Local attractions

Water-based activities are well sorted all over this area, with surfboards and pedalo rentals found on most beaches. For something sail-based, the blustery Fiumara beach (a 10-minute drive south of the town) is popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers. Away from the water, make for Castiglione della Pescaia for sightseeing, history and shopping: its medieval fortress is still one of the town's main sights, along with its old Etruscan centre, Vetulonia. Castiglione's historic centre is also good for shopping trips: shoes, bags and other bits can be bought until around midnight during the summer holidays, and you can pick up further goodies at the Saturday morning market near the harbour. The Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, just outside town, is a popular spot with birdwatchers to spy flamingos and ducks; for more nature, hike around the Natural Park of Maremma, a protected wildlife area in spectacularly green Tuscan surrounds; visit the the springs of Massa Marittima; or take a boat trip out to the islands of Elba and Giglio.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
Quiet (afternoon) hours must be respected between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m..
Quiet hours must be respected between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m..
