What a spectacularly set Tuscany park. Surrounded by a shaded coastal pine forest in the Maremma region and welcoming guests for more than 50 years, Campeggio Maremma Sans Souci has loads to do within easy reach of its locale right by the sea on the Grosseto coast.
First up, this smashing park has direct access to its own private sandy beach and lies three kilometres from the popular seaside spot of Castiglione della Pescaia. Next, a stay here will also have you close to Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, between Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto, and near the archaeology of ancient Pitigliano and the springs of Massa Marittima.
Walking and cycling trails are easy to find nearby too – and you'll likely have figured out that this is area also prime wildlife watching territory (you’ll spot plenty of birds around the site, plus you might be lucky enough to receive the occasional visit from a local wild pig). If you're a watersports sort, plunge into the sea with ease from here, as the site has a surfers' area with wetsuit drying rack as well as an area to wash and hang out sails for when you return from wave-based pursuits.
Each pitch at this secluded and quiet site is hedged to give guests maximum privacy, and plenty are presided over by mature trees. Fodder is sorted at the site’s snack bar, while something more substantial can be procured at the restaurant and pizzeria; alternatively, pick up stuff at the mini market for barbecue-based self catering.
Postcards, souvenirs and beach paraphernalia like goggles, beach toys and sandals are all for sale over at the bazaar.

Local attractions
Water-based activities are well sorted all over this area, with surfboards and pedalo rentals found on most beaches. For something sail-based, the blustery Fiumara beach (a 10-minute drive south of the town) is popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers.
Away from the water, make for Castiglione della Pescaia for sightseeing, history and shopping: its medieval fortress is still one of the town's main sights, along with its old Etruscan centre, Vetulonia. Castiglione's historic centre is also good for shopping trips: shoes, bags and other bits can be bought until around midnight during the summer holidays, and you can pick up further goodies at the Saturday morning market near the harbour.
The Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, just outside town, is a popular spot with birdwatchers to spy flamingos and ducks; for more nature, hike around the Natural Park of Maremma, a protected wildlife area in spectacularly green Tuscan surrounds; visit the the springs of Massa Marittima; or take a boat trip out to the islands of Elba and Giglio.

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancelations and for your property/injury whilst away.
