It’s all about nature, comfort and sustainability at ecoVita Agri-Glamping, a sustainable development project in the agri-tourism mould, with the aim of creating a strong bond between man and nature. With a wonderful setting in hills near Sardinia’s lovely city of Cagliari, the eco-site is fully immersed in its natural surroundings and just a bike ride away from the beaches and lagoons of Sarrabus. Spacious and luxurious accommodation here is in yurt-style cotton tents with parquet flooring to keep things solid underfoot. They're positioned in typical Mediterranean scrub overlooking the bio-lake, and each one is furnished with a double bed and singles (sheets and towels in organic cotton supplied). A bathroom inside the farmhouse is assigned to each tent – although there’s also an outdoor shower surrounded by greenery for those who'd like to go for an alfresco experience. Shared facilities for guests comprise a multifunctional room with a kitchenette and a barbecue and pizza oven on the patio. Here you can prepare and eat meals (pots and pans are provided), have fun playing ping pong and table football, or simply relax and take in the views. For breakfast, coffee, tea, milk, bread and homemade jams are provided on the terrace, and home-grown fruit and vegetables and eggs are available for guests to purchase.

Local attractions

Number one on your hit list should be the Sarrabus beaches, which stretch along 70 km of coastline with sandy beaches and tiny coves lapped by crystal-clear waters. Feraxi and Colostrai can be reached in roughly half an hour’s bike ride. Cala sa Figu and Porto de s’Illixi (both around 40 minutes) are two pretty bays on the promontory of Capo Ferrato. Jump in the car to reach Costa Rei beach, Cala Sinzias and the coves of Monte Turno, Sant’Elmo and Su Cannisoni (all around 20 minutes’ drive), which are known for their white sand and turquoise sea. Snorkelling, canoeing, sailing and dinghy excursions are all available on the coast. Behind the beaches lie the inland lakes of Colostrai and Feraxi (both 15 minutes’ drive). Together they form an oasis protecting wildlife including herons, marsh harriers, egrets, kingfishers and vividly feathered pink flamingos. You can walk, cycle or ride horses along the waterside banks, take pictures and admire the sunsets. The ecoVita site edges Sette Fratelli regional park (15 minutes), making it a handy spot for relaxing walks to its many archaeological sites.

Liked: Angenehm im Zelt, selbst im August, leckere selbstgemachte Marmelade, super Lage, sehr ruhig und circa 12-15 Minuten nur zu sehr schönen Stränden und Buchten. Ansonsten wurden wor toll betreut und haben gute Tipps bekommen, sei es kultureller oder kulinarischer Art.
