What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

Group bookings of 4 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The height barrier is pulled down from 8pm until 8pm so any taller vehicles above 1.98 meters (6ft 6 inches) needing to arrive or depart outside these times will need to use the exterior car park.

I tried to ring and speak to someone but unfortunately there wasn’t anyone there to answer!!!!!

Old clothes left there in the shower block from day 1 of our stay. blood on the chair.

The sinks were full of hair… most of them, all of the time

The sinks had loo roll stuffed in the over flow holes & were never cleaned.

Blood there from first night .. still there on sunday.!

Liked This is the third time camping at this site and every time it's been amazing just what we wanted for a quiet peaceful getaway we only live down the road and it's so nice to just be able to go a few miles and enjoy lovely views and walks

Liked Spacious, especially as few vehicles on site. Lovely setting, and easy access to walks. Simple check-in and check-out. Security was very good.

Disliked Less impressed with toilet and washing facilities, which were at best adequate. They were however cleaned well.

Liked Like the location, plenty to do around the area. Pitches are well maintained. Lots of trees for privacy and to encourage wildlife.

Disliked Even though the cleanliness has improved since our last visit I feel that there’s still room for improvement. Brown stain in most toilet bowls and sinks and taps could be cleaner. Also vacating touring pitches at 10 am is far too early. 11am would be better.

Liked Love this site! Quiet, well maintained, spacious pitches, surrounded by as much countryside or recreation as you can hope for.
Checkin is all automated ...dead easy.

Disliked Someone has pinched the hose from one of your elsan points.

Quite difficult to get back to at night ... public transport stops about a 15/20 min walk away down unlit isolated roads.

Liked Location, grass pitch sizes.

Disliked Facilities seemed a little tired, showers run in very short intervals and in some cubicles there were no shower curtains.
Seasonal/Residential section of the campsite was very poor, lots of equipment/junk within this area & outside of caravans & awnings very dirty (green/ mildew).

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the Main center.
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
The site will send you further check-in information 1 day(s) before your arrival.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
