What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

喜欢 Never been away in a touring caravan before so very basic weekend for us but there were very Clean facilities, quiet and peaceful, very large pitch and overall great for what we needed

不喜欢 If I could rate this campsite a 0 stars I would.
The showers were appalling.
Filthy cubicles.
Showers didn't work AT ALL!
When you eventually got a dribble, and I mean dribble, it was cold.
5 showers for 100 odd people.

Kids had a whole weekend of a rugby tournament and we couldn't even wash them to get them clean.

Honestly wish I'd have listened the the reviews and not just thought people were moaning minnies.

Absolute rip off. To pay to stay on this site is an absolute joke.

不喜欢 But on my arrival found camper van parked in my parking stop next to my pod on the arches had to ask him to move in the morning which he did I think he had sneaky come on the site to stay next to his friends staying in no 10 pod

喜欢 The close proximity to National Water Sports centre.

不喜欢 The excessive noise (especially on an evening), poor cleanliness of the toilets and shower block, the extraordinary high prices in the inside shop.

If you've any energy left over or you're hardily thinking that the watery and land-based activities of the Holme Pierrepont Country Park just aren't enough, get along to the cycle paths of Colwick Country Park on the outskirts of Nottingham, which have miles of waterside biking alongside the River Trent. Wildlife watchers can wander around Skylarks Nature Reserve, owned by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, highly recommended by the Holme Pierrepont Country Park team and 15 minutes' drive from the site. The cricket ground of Trent Bridge, home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is 10 minutes' drive away.
