What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

喜欢 Well laid out site with pitch being spacious
Well maintained with clean toilets / shower blocks

不喜欢 Was pitched on park view hard standing and there was a constant stream of people walking to the toilets from 6am holding loud conversations with their mates also loud until 11pm

Height barrier - we were notified that the barrier would be closed between 8pm and 8am so higher sided vehicles would not be able to enter / leave without notice - sadly when we tried to leave at 5pm on the Sunday it was already locked so had to wait 15 mins to be able to leave

喜欢 Beautiful setting, very convenient for cycling into Nottingham City Centre, football & cricket grounds. Well kept grounds.

不喜欢 "Welcome" email started with 5 rows of red, underlined text covering late arrivals. Height restriction barrier was closed even though we arrived in the required timeframe and we had to phone to request it to be lifted so that we could leave. Toilet block was basic, designed more for school groups than Motorhomes/Caravans.

Wildlife watchers can wander around Skylarks Nature Reserve, owned by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, highly recommended by the Holme Pierrepont Country Park team and 15 minutes' drive from the site. The cricket ground of Trent Bridge, home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is 10 minutes' drive away.
