  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding, open-top canoeing and the inflatable assault course Wipe Out. But! This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a mini four-wheel drive course for kids, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots is on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Very disappointed, I hadn't received my pitch allocation on the day I would normally so emailed to enquire only to receive an email cancelling our booking!!! Which was the day before our booking!!! I then needed to find accommodation as we were going to a racing event at Holme Pierrepont so couldn't just cancel our plans. I only used this campsite as its convenient for the centre but after this weekend I have and will be using another campsite. I am wait for a full refund. The pictures of the site are miss leading and the shower and toilet blocks need a lot of updating

Liked: The sky trail and staff running it. 16 amp electric.

Disliked: When we arrived there was no one to talk to about where our pitch was. We had hard standing but unfortunately when you stepped out beside the caravan/awning it was very muddy grass a lot of it being churned by other users. The info and pictures are a bit misleading as there is nothing on the actual site besides a small play area. The activities are a little walk or drive away across the road (if you drove you had to pay for parking). The shop wasn't open for very long. We didn't feel there was any staff on site to talk to if we had any questions. We ended up asking the cleaners. Shower blocks not very clean. Check out was quite early. Unfortunately we had some late arrivals on our last night being very loud. The lake that had the inflatables on is extremely dirty with old shoes, Rubbish and clothing floating around it (might be its not maintained due to it being April)

Liked: The activities available is great wide variety of things to do. My lad loved the jeeps

Disliked: Paying for parking if driving over to the activities as it was seperate from the actual site, shop was rarely open or reception, main mens toilet and shower block needs updating leaking toilets and quite smelly, the newer shower blocks where alot more pleasant

Liked: Easy to find

Disliked: The showers are rubbish, the timer on the push button don't stay on long enough to wet a finger let alone your hair!!!! This is a long standing problem and wish it was sorted as we have to use this site alot for the regatta lake and whitewater centre

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Lots of pitches, big pitch sizes, good kids play area.

Disliked: Nobody to greet us and tell us which pitch was ours when we arrived, which wouldn't have been so much of a problem if we'd received the details via email before hand but we hadn't even been given an access code to get through the main gate and reception was closed, the only way to contact someone was through the emergency line which didn't get answered for 20 mins and by the time we did finally get to our pitch it was dark and late. Grass on our pitch was very very muddy and boggy which can't be helped. Very noisy neighbours until early hours of the morning, dogs barking, people shouting, music blaring, no staff anywhere to report this to. Cafe, restaurant/bar and shop were all closed and are apparently never open according to staff so this site should not be advertising these facilities. To top it off, there was a man offering drugs In the toilet block, on a family site where kids were going to the toilet by themselves! Such a shame because the site has a lot of potential to be an excellent family camp site.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Lovely site that we keep returning to as lots to do there.

Disliked: The place was a little muddy so the pitch wasn’t the best and was told all hard standing were fully booked when we could they were plenty available. A bit disappointing.
