Holme Pierrepont Country Park: Park (photo added by on 05/03/2022)

General

  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids

What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding, open-top canoeing and the inflatable assault course Wipe Out.

But! This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a mini four-wheel drive course for kids, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable).

Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots is on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail a short stroll away.

Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dog Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Group bookings of 4 or more units (e.g. tent, caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Group bookings of 6 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Minimum spacing of 6 metres between pitches.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the campground/park are unlit.

No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

The heating timed off in the middle of the night which is understandable. I just didn't want to get out of bed!!😁😁😁. The roadways need renewing as many potholes due to the rain.

Shower block cold but I could cope with that but after stripping off I was not happy to find the showers were not working.
We had booked in for two nights but after the event we were attending in Nottingham we didn't return to the site. In morning on leaving the site there was no one in the to speak to. Disappointing stay!
