Liked We like the location of the site and the quietness. Good access for walking to Lancaster or Gleason Docks in the opposite direction.

Disliked Hard standing pitches need to be better maintained - grass is becoming over grown on the hardstanding making them difficult to distinguish. Site maintenance appears to have deteriorated a little since our last visit.

Liked Well located for Chirk and close to the canal - great for walking and cycling. Level pitches and nice facilities. Very welcoming and helpful team.

Disliked The site is in in close proximity to the main road and consequently there is quite a bit of road noise which is present during day and at night.

Disliked Showers need an upgrade, charging 50p per shower not good, would be better to incorporate into overall price. Hard standing pitches need to be better marked out with clearer access to riverside pitches.

Liked This is the first time that we've visited this site. The manager on site was very welcoming and helpful on arrival. It's a relatively small site catering for adults only - the toilet and shower facilities were good and were kept very clean. The site is located approximately five minutes from local super markets, so convenient in that respect.

Disliked Close to main A road so you can hear some road noise when sat outside which we didn't find a distraction.

From the manager: Well I have to say I'm very disappointed by your review. Literally every other review of mine has been 10/10 for value for money (compared to your 4/10). I haven't had less than an 8/10 for the cleanliness except for your 2/10. You had (as a minimum) a 6m x 10m pitch, there were 5 hot showers, 5 toilets, 5 sinks available at all times and you had unlimited (and unmetered) use of a 16 Amp hook-up. There was also a drinking water stand pipe within 40m of any pitch, a chemical disposal point and a grey water disposal point. I'm really not sure what else you would expect for your £15 a night. The two reviews below, and the two reviews above this one, are from customers of mine who were here on the same site and at the same time as you were. I wonder why their reviews are so much better than yours? I think you have been rather unfair in your assessment. On a plus note - at least your highest mark went to customer service, so thank you for that. Regards, Alf
