General

  • Cliffside site a short walk from the beach
  • Well-kept grounds set around a koi carp lake
  • Pool, adventure playground, bar, restaurant and takeaway

This one certainly does what it says on the tin: on cliffs beside an inlet full of the golden grainy stuff, Sandy Bay Holiday Park also has an impressive vista of the Northumberland coastline and well-kept grounds set around a lake full of koi carp.

It’s an easy walk to the beach, but if the sea water’s too chilly, you can wallow instead in the heated indoor pool, where you’ll also find a fun range of activities such as hydrodomes and snorkelling.

This is a lively site, ideal for families with its fun kids’ clubs for all ages, adventure playground, amusements and family-oriented entertainment in the beach showbar (expect competitions, games, live shows, music and dancing).

Sandy Bay Holiday Park also has a bar, restaurant and takeaway food, plus a shop and laundry room.

This site is a member of Parkdean Resorts group.

Food in bar good and quick,

    Disliked:

Despite booking mths in advance to meet business client for possible £2.4 million investment in area we were just told to find somewhere to park up, not so easy crammed pitches, where others had 2/3 cars and vans parked Travelers with washing machines outside and Vans in and out all night, toilets were disgusting and not cleaned we had very little to do with staff so can.t comment. not a nice place and will not be investing any money in the area, only plus was price £17 pr night but can see why, have used pitch up web page previous and found them satisfactory, But not this time,Food was very good in the bar and quick service..

Closeness to the beach. The main reason for choosing the site

    Disliked:

    Touring area could not be more disorganised!! The pitch number on our welcome pack was occupied by a season pitch. We were told we could use one of those remaining of our choice. There were other long term clients of more than one caravan already there too.A party came in with three caravans and were allowed to park so close to each other they couldn't have put up an awning if they wanted to !!!;

Close to the sea on arrival the young site manager asked if I had been there before. I explained I'd never been in a caravan before 10 minutes later he had set up my complete caravan. I just watched and learned. Tried to give him a fiver and he just smiled and said not necessary and wouldn't take it. Fantastic service. Other people on the park very helpful too
My young son loved the beach. 30 yards away

    Disliked:

Lack of toilet roll. Bring your own
The clubhouse entertainment wasn't our thing to be honest.

Site was ok catered for families, staff very friendly and helpful.

    Disliked:

Amenities were not up to much, they were not very clean and they had a pass number to use before you could get in them and if you forgot IT you were left wanting. You would only associate a code for toilets if they were up to scratch and they were not.
