Ashton Hall Caravan Park: Stunning views

General

  • Peaceful and spacious wildlife haven in the smart Ashton Hall Estate
  • Lancaster city and the Forest of Bowland both within six miles
  • An 11-hole seaview golf course, woodland walks and fishing in the Lune

Rock up here for a restful retreat among the comely grounds of Ashton Hall Caravan Park… Within Ashton Hall’s extensive estate are an 11-hole golf course with spectacular seaward vista, as well as a garden centre and café, all bordered by ancient woodlands and the River Lune, and direct access to the Lancashire Coastal Way and the Lune Estuary Footpath.

Your holiday days will surely fill up quickly with all there is to do around the locale too – if you manage to tear yourself away from the site, that is – as the Forest of Bowland, the Lune Estuary and Lancaster city are all within six miles. On site, there's loads of room to wander around the grounds or in the adjoining forest for woodland walking routes, nature trails and cycle paths, many of which will take you from the site directly to the banks of the River Lune.

On top of all this, the site takes pride in its sparklingly clean unisex toilet and shower facilities in a modern stone-built bathroom block with underfloor heating. The building includes an accessible bathroom/ family facility, a vanity area with washbasins, big mirrors and a hairdryer, a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers, and a covered washing-up area – like the site itself, the amenities block is safely secure and accessed via a secure key code.

A local pub and restaurant lies within a mile of the estate, and Lancaster is three miles away.

Ashton Hall is a lovely site in a great location. Only 10 minute drive into the centre and a 10 minute walk from a lovely pub - The Stork (Roger will tell you how to walk there via the footpath through the field) Roger was very helpful and friendly. It is based next to a golf course and there is also a garden centre on site which was lovely and we visited the cafe for breakfast in the morning. The toilets were very clean and we would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed the peace and quiet, and an excellent location to visit our daughter at Lancaster University.

Thought that the key code for the gate and shower block was a good idea.

Chemical disposal was fantastic with the hot water shower.

    Muddy paths,
Had to book via pitch up as opposed to through caravan and motorhome club on request of owner, so unable to use our gift vouchers,
Quite expensive for a very basic site.

Fabulous rural site with lovely views, outdoor space and walks. Extremely peaceful and tranquil.
Not too far from the M6, a perfect overnight stop for me en-route to Scotland

Brilliant communication from the manager / owner of the site before my trip

For such a small site probably the best shower block i have come across, huge cubicles where you can hang your belongings without them getting soaked and have space to dry off and dress after. Clean and lovely and warm. Hot water in the sinks outside for washing up was great, even a laundry if needed.
