From the manager: Thank you for the fab review. 🥰 Its lovely that we can welcome dogs, though we have had cats and a parrot visit too! Yes I did have to look twice when the parrot was here... hee hee Glad you found the facilities to your requirements, we unfortunately aren't millionaires so just trying to improve things a little bit at a time. Lovely to see you again in the future.

Liked Small quiet camp site. Self check in. Wash rooms nice.
Disliked Could do with a stand alone toilet on the campling field for busy periods as washrooms can be engaged for a while if people are showering.

Liked Great little hidden gem. Loved the fact that it was adult only. Camping pods were really well designed and equipped. Much better than any standard pod. Great to sit out on the patio and watch the horses.
Toilets as youwould expect. Clean and tidy. Shower rooms were great. Owner seemed lovely when i spoke to her. Camp site was perfect for us as we like quiet. Very secure.
Kids 18 and 20 yrs loved seeing the horses every day. Really well priced too.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked First time staying in wild pitch camp site. Liked the pitches dotted around the woods. Facilities are adequate for a wild pitch camp site. Kept stocked and clean. Nice walks around the site. Liked the check in system of just picking up your pack. I struggle with small talk so this was nice. I have a terrible sense of direction but the others in my party found the pitch on the map provided. Once we managed to repair the tent poles from our recent disasterous trip to Devon the tent went up easily in the pitch with room for my large car. Camp rules were endorced by the male owner which was nice to see as people were playing amlified music which isnt allowed. Some people had dogs off leads which was annoying since we stick to that rule strictly. Site in good location to reach beaches, historic sites etc which we loved. Elgin has lots of supermarkets for food stock up. Had a great time here.
Disliked No major issues.

Rabbit Field electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (shaded)
Liked Friendly staff. Beautiful views. Excellent washrooms and washing up are which were always kept clean and werent too busy.
Camp site rules were kept to eveyone. Especially the 10.30 quiet time.
Disliked Rabbit field grass pitches completely unsuitable for tent unless small tents. On pitch up says pitches can take tent 6m × 6m. Our tent 3.6m × 6m did not fit and had to be pitched awkwardly
Pitch 59 we were allocated did not have its own electric point and our 12 m hookup was too short to reach the point. All pitches uneven and sloped. Ground very stoney and even hard ground pegs struggled. Moles burrying under our tent. They advertise this area as shaded which was fine for us and i assumed was why it was a little cheaper but failed to mention the other issues. People booked onto pitch 58 who arrived before us were moved elsewhere on the site possibly because of the poor quality of the pitches. Were were offered 2 pitch areas on rabbit field to accomodate our tent. We agreed as we had travelled over 200 miles to get there. The slope caused everything in the tent to slide including the beds at night. We gave up and came home early as the weather was windy and a tent pole split. The rabbit field geass pitches are like a wind tunnel when its bery windy. Email to the site about the pitch issues have gone unanswered.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely new park well situated. Quite well set out. Manager and staff great. Sort out issues quickly. Tents were quite nicely spaced out. Electric hook up didnt require a massively long extension. Pot wash room excellent with microwaves and fridge. Toilet facilities cleaned and well designed. Just need a few extra toilet stalls as it does get very busy. Nice field for kids to play on.
Coldstream easily walkable with a Co-op and chippy. Also has a pertrol station. Plenty of stuff to drive to in borders and Northumberland.
Warden onsite 24hrs a day.
Disliked Nothing specific about the camp.
Could put on the website that hard ground tent pegs are needed so people know in advance as basic tent pegs would bend easily.
Otherwise warden checking the site every so often to make sure people are sticking to camp rules which arent unreasonable.
The rules people ignore are; keeping dogs on leads as they assume other dogs and humans will like their dog.
People not cleaning the bathroom and flushing toilet after themselves.
Not all people quiet after 11pm but usually pretty good.
Kids going into toilets without an adult.

2 bedroom static caravan
Liked Fantastic location and great price. Private and quiet, ideal for people who like solitude. Caravan has great layout, clean and well kept. Dog friendly which is a massive bonus. Bedding, towels and cleaning procducts supplied. Heating in most rooms and lots of storage. Just bring clothes and food.
Fantastc views. Whitby is walkable from caravan. The kids love animals so were thrilled to be on the farm. They made special friends with the farm cat Mr Whippy.
In summer the decking and furniture would be really nice. Not so much in February despite the weather being good.
Owners are very nice. Anything needed can be contacted by text.

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (wild)
Liked Great camp site. Owner super friendly. Wild camping field large and quiet. A playground available for kids. Even the "basic" facilities on the wild calling field were good. Showers available on the main field which is close by. Coffee caravan available 24 hours for small fee. Beer tent on site of wanted. Pizza van lady visits to cook wood stove pizza. Small shop available on site. Pitches level and large. Rules for the camp site are reasonable and seem to be followed by everyone.

Liked Nice family friendly site. Staff friendly and helpful. Good set of rules that are not unreasonable that most people adhere to. Pitches well set out with good distancing. Facilities well maintained and clean.
Camp fees are very reasonable for this area of England.
Security barrier is a good touch and car being away from pitches in car park so field is free for kids to play in.
Disliked Need more toilets and showers for when the camp is full, as very crowded.
Bring hard ground pegs for tents as ground very hard.

Liked Nicely situated site. Owners friendly. Plenty of room between pitches. Toilet and shower blocks not too busy. Can have camp fire is you wish via camp owner.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your great review and 10/10 score. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us in these testing times. There is a noise curfew at 11pm quite Midnight absolute silence. But some drunken campers can some time forget these rules that's when we step in Firmly Derek & Julie + the very HARD working Team

Electric grass pitch
Liked Fantastic site. Owners were friendly, welcoming and very helpful, even when we had to arrive a day late due to family illness. Big tent pitches. Loads of water points and bins around the site. Fantastic play area for young kids and some activities for older ones too. Facilities were immaculate and some of the best I’ve encountered. Didn’t have to queue for showers or toilets. Great washing up area with fridge freezers and washers/driers to use. Camp rules were perfectly reasonable. Little shop in reception open until late. Gates locked at night. Overall an excellent, well up kept site.

Holmrook, Cumbria, England
Liked Friendly and accommodating owners. Good information pack given on arrival and camp rules reasonable. Good sized pitches with fire pit each and wood available to buy and delivered at a good price. Water points close by. Electric points can be away from your pitch but the owner will lend you an extension free of charge.
Camp was lovely and quiet and other campers seemed to be very respectful of the rules.
Toilet facilities are unisex which takes a bit of getting used to but easy to adapt to. These facilities can get busy but are fine if you are adaptable and choose your time for showers and washes to avoid peaks. There are porta-loos on the non electric grass pitch and a separate outhouse type toilet attached to the building which I found great. Washing up area fine.
Not always people at reception but if you leave a note for them they will get back to you.
Nice big dog walking field. A lovely donkey and horse on the site (Jackson and Murphy). Our kids adored the donkey and went to see him regularly.
This is a working farm and the camp site is ideal for seasoned and adaptable campers. There is a beach a short drive away which is lovely. Petrol station with a Spar a short drive away.
Disliked Could do with extra toilets for peak season as it was busy on the bank holiday Monday.
