Great campsite and perfect for astronomy enthusiasts

Aug 2026

Liked Very nice site, with big pitche, clean facilities and friendly staff. Lovely positioned near a river and with direct access to it, great for relaxing holidays and very dog friendly. Our dog loved the enclosed dog field , and he was even welcomed with a tennis ball as a gift at Check in😍 Dogs even have their own shower and shampoo if needed. Facilities were very nice. toilets and showers were clean, nice dishwashing area, a few books, magazines and games available to borrow too. And of course the cherry on top and the main reason we wanted to see this campsite, the amazing sky full of stars (never seen so many and so beautiful to be fair) and their observatory with the telescope. Really nice touch 👌 There is no shop on site (they sell some ice cream though), so if you forget something at home your only choice is walking 30 min to Preisteigne or drive there if you can.

Disliked The bright lights near the observatory which obstructed the much expected views. We have still enjoyed the stars from the pitch but with the telescope not a lot of luck (the EV charger next to the dome was making so much light and was reflecting too much directly on it) . The cozy area created there is amazing and definitely a nice touch but would be even better in a darker area of the campsite 😁

Breathtaking sea views and spotless site

May 2026

Liked Amazing campsite, now on top of our most beautiful campsites visited around Wales and even around the UK (and we have seen a few :) ! We had a front row pitch with stunning sea views (it can get pretty windy during the night so check the forecast in advance, but you get the views so no complaints!) . Also to be fair, all pitches around the campsite have some sea views which is amazing so regardless of where you pitch up you will have great views . The site is spotless, grass cut to perfection, beautiful flowers and wild plants, lovely customer service, beautiful throughout! Amazing walks on the coastal path straight from campsite and direct access to the beach (wild, rocky but gorgeous!). Facilities are very clean and they are building new ones too as they could def do with more given how popular the site is. They have lots of holiday homes on site too so perfect even if you don't want to camp. And the mobile homes have breathtaking views too! Dog friendly site, with dog bins nicely situated around the site and even a dog exercise area (we have not had the chance to go and see if but we had plenty of walks around the site and on the coast). We had water and electricity on the pitch and the pitch was surprisingly leveled given location . There is also a pool available for guests to enjoy and a small games room. They have a small shop onsite (good for last minute items but not enough options to do a proper stock up so make sure you come prepared and not rely on the shop alone). The access road is quite narrow and could be difficult to navigate for not so confident drivers, however is mainly used for camping guests so if everyone is adhering to the check out and check in times, should be fine. All in all, we can't wait to return and we definitely recommend this amazing site!!!

From the manager: Hi Laura, Thank you so much for such an incredibly detailed and generous review — and for sharing your lovely photos too! 😊 We’re absolutely delighted to hear that Morfa Bychan has made it to the top of your list of favourite campsites across Wales and the UK — that really means a lot, especially given how well-travelled you are. It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the clifftop Kestrel pitch and those breathtaking sea views (even with a bit of the coastal breeze!). We’re also so pleased you appreciated the care that goes into keeping the park tidy, from the grounds and flowers to the cleanliness of the facilities — the team works hard on this, so your comments are hugely appreciated. Thank you as well for highlighting the coastal walks, dog-friendly features, and overall layout of the park — it’s great to hear these all added to your experience. We’re continuing to invest in the site, including additional facilities, so it’s encouraging to know this is something our guests will benefit from. We really appreciate your helpful notes for future visitors too — especially regarding the shop and access road — very kind of you to include those insights. We’re thrilled you’re planning to return, and we’ll look forward to welcoming you back for more stunning views and sunsets soon! Best wishes, The Morfa Bychan Team 🌊

Fantastic site, well looked after and with great facilities

May 2026

Liked Lovely little site with a very homely feeling. The owner is very friendly and takes a lot of pride in his beautiful site, and fair enough as you can see throughout the place the little touches and how well he is taking care of everything. After reading many other reviews, we were really curious to see how this place looks and after our visit , below are the main points to be noted: 1. The site is spotless (from pitches, to facilities, the lawn around the site everything is well taken care of) 2. Yes , there are rules imposed but nothing out of ordinary: common sense for any campers that know how to respect a site! 3. Yes, there is CCTV on site and inside facilities building but this is clearly mentioned during booking, also there are pictures on site showing the area covered and NO intrusive issues, the camera is facing the sinks and hair dryer area (NOT the cubicles or showers). It is all for safety and triggered after some prior guests decided not to respect the site 4. Great play area for children, with more equipment available than what you usually find in a standard campsite, very colourful, lots of things for the little ones to do and even with a separate toilet for children whilst playing there. Of course the paint is not always looking shining new because 1 UK is famous for rainy days and 2. Because paint does not last forever (seen the words "ran down looking" being used in some reviews which is very unfair in my opinion 5. There is a big field available to walk/exercise your dog, which is amazing (and very clean and with well taken care of grass) 6. Showers are clean, spacious and with nice hot water 7. Lovely donkeys, goats and ducks residents which the owner was kind enough to show to our daughter 8. Really nice and quirky decorations around the site (again some might love, some might not, we did enjoy seeing them!) 9. Metered electricity with very very good prices (barely anything after a night's stay in our van) This site is perfect and we do recommend it, we had a really good night stay and we hope to return soon!

May 2026

Liked Spacious pitch gravel and grass, good facilities, possibility of ordering breakfast baps and croissants from reception, lovely ducks on site and rabbits 🙂 walking trails in the area, lovely scenery and very close to Hadrian's wall (you can walk in about 20 min to one of the points, or drive 5 min to Steel Rigg car park from where you enjoy a gorgeous walking route along the wall itself). Only stayed for 1 night and weather was not on our side bilut we hope to return on a sunnier day soon

Sept 2025

Liked Great holiday park, spacious pitches and very well maintained..the entire park is very well looked after and with a very nice layout. Facilities are very clean and loved the individual cubicles with toilet sink and shower or just toilet and sink. Tip : make sure you have the access code with you all the time to avoid walking all the way up to the toilet and realise you don't have the code 😉 Some pitches are further away from the toilets so something to check on the map before checking in (pitches 10-11-12-13 that range are the furthest from the toilets , same with pitches around range 40s-53 . Views are pretty at pitches 49'53 though). Lovely nature trail directly from the campsite and Hele beach 1 min drive or around 10min walking. Lovely cafe at the beach with yummy breakfast (closed for the season from end of September).

Nice site , perfect for stop over if travelling via Le Shuttle train

Aug 2025

Liked Really close to Le Shuttle terminal in Calais, perfect for stop over. You can leave from 6am which is great for early journeys. It has many seasonal/permanent pitches but guests were respectful and we had a good night sleep. Restaurant on site serving decent food if you don't fancy cooking (however we had much bigger expectations , not very tasty to be honest ..but ok as a quick solution after a long day of traveling). Clean facilities and spacious pitches Enclosed dog exercise area which is a big plus

Disliked Food served in restaurant could have been better Dog exercise area a bit dirty which is not campsite's fault but the fault of disrespectful guests!! Dog owners..please don't make all of us look bad, when you have a dog please have the decency to clean after your companion (campsite even offers free poo bags, a bin available so well done for this camping saint Louis!!) Toilets were quite far from our pitch (only one toilet building and our pitch was right at the back of the campsite)

Good as stop over only but mainly aimed at seasonal/permanent guests

Aug 2025

Liked Nice location, direct access to Lake Garda which is fantastic, dog friendly, easy access, restaurants nearby. WiFi free and good signal

Disliked Dated facilities, no toilet paper, no soap. They were cleaned but lacked all the amenities you would get for a campsite at this price.

Apr 2025

Liked Lovely location, with beautiful views. Driving was a delight 😊 the campsite is situated in a small village and has its own shop opened until late in the evening. We have stayed at one of the chalets and were really pleased with the space, it was very clean, it has a really nice bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Please don't forget to bring your own bed linen (mentioned in the description also). You will be provided with pillows and duvets just need your own bedding. Dog friendly too 😊 The campsite looks really well and pitches are also big and on a nice flat surface and amenities are well taken care of. For summer nights there is also a nice outdoor terrace where you can enjoy a drink or snack. Definitely added on our list of places to stop when travelling in the area. We visited on a very quiet period and enjoyed peace and tranquility and a very good night sleep and hopefully it is not too noisy in the main season either.

Apr 2024

Liked Gorgeous campsite with spotless facilities (and really good looking) , great views, big pitches , wi fi really good. Lovely donkeys at the farm. Easy Access and if you drive a smaller car or a campervan we reccommend choosing horseshoe pass as your route (breathtaking views but route reccommended only for confident drivers). Mar 2024

Liked Fantastic holiday park, we booked a last minute, fully serviced hardstanding pitch and we will definitely return to this gem of a campsite. Very nice owners, surprisingly well stocked little shop , quiet site, drive there from lovely Keswick town took about 30min and is a fantastic driving route with breathtaking views!! Site is also dog friendly, well maintained, facilities are 10/10. They also offer pitches with hot tub and from what we have seen they also look amazing! All in all, this place is on our top list now ♥️

May 2023

Liked Well maintained facilities and very friendly and attentive staff members. Due to location it can get very windy so be prepared for it, but you get nice sea views, levelled pitches on lower field (which is close to facilities). From campsite you can get to nice beaches and coast walks in about 50 min - walking (you can also drive there but bare in mind is a narrow lane and parking is limited once you arrive) . We have walked to Nolton Haven beach which is a little gem, good for swimming, paddling etc (and dog friendly). From there you can get on the coast path and enjoy the breathtaking views. Another big plus for campsite is the shop on site and variety of products, opened late and you can also buy hot drinks and even cooked food from van outside the shop (have cash available just in case as card was not working on one occasion for food truck)

Disliked Could do with a few more toilets, frequent queues at ladies at least (in main block there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers and 4 separate cubicles at the back which are unisex and have own toilet, sink and shower - coin operated shower).
