What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

What customers say

Morfa Bychan Holiday Park offers spectacular sea views and a peaceful atmosphere, with most guests praising the friendly staff, clean facilities, and well-maintained grounds. The swimming pool and play area are highlights for families. However, some visitors note the narrow access road, dated shower blocks (with refurbishments planned), and the cost of WiFi. The remote location and lack of on-site amenities like a restaurant are also mentioned. Despite minor drawbacks, many highly recommend the site and plan to return.

Liked Beautiful location.
Caravan was modern and had everything you could need. Stunning view!
Lovely clean outdoor swimming pool and play park. Small onsite shop but would recommend uber delivery of groceries if you need more things and don't fancy the drive out.

Disliked Really narrow road in and out which is nerve wracking.
No coffee shop or food truck.

From the manager: Hi Fiona,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review and for rating your stay 9/10. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful location, stunning views and the comfort of your Sunset Strip caravan. It's also wonderful to know that the outdoor swimming pool and play area were a hit with your family.

Thank you as well for your constructive feedback regarding the narrow access road and the lack of on-site food and drink facilities. While we're fortunate to be surrounded by some fantastic local cafés, restaurants and takeaways, we appreciate that having additional options available on the park would be convenient for some guests, and we're always happy to receive suggestions from our visitors.

We're pleased that Morfa Bychan provided a relaxing family getaway, and we hope to welcome you and your family back again soon to enjoy those spectacular coastal views.

From the manager: Hi Grant,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for sharing your feedback following your stay with us.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the unbeatable views and found our team friendly and welcoming. Providing a peaceful coastal escape is exactly what Morfa Bychan is all about, so it's lovely to know you had an enjoyable stay.

We appreciate your comments regarding the WiFi. As we advertise, Morfa Bychan is very much a "get away from it all" destination, and many of our guests specifically choose us to disconnect from work, technology and the demands of everyday life while enjoying the scenery and tranquillity of the coast. For that reason, we do not promote strong connectivity across every area of the park. That said, we do recognise that some guests wish to stay connected, and we are continuing to improve our WiFi provision for those who choose to use the paid service.

We were also interested to read your comments regarding pitch spacing. Our touring development is still relatively new, with several of the pitches only introduced this season. While we appreciate that perceptions of space can vary from guest to guest, we have deliberately incorporated landscaping and greenery into the design, and further hedge planting is planned as the development matures. Having visited many holiday parks ourselves, we feel that the natural screening will help create an even greater sense of privacy as it establishes over the coming seasons.

Thank you again for your feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed the spectacular location overall and hope to welcome you and your family back to Morfa Bychan in the future.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Buzzard fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked 5 nights wasn't enough we didn't want to leave! If you want to completely unwind then this is where you can do that. Aberystwyth is very close by to keep refilling the fridge and New Quay is perfect for lunch and a lovely day trip out. However if you would prefer not to move, as we did, quite a lot, then the onsite shop is perfect for essentials. Just get the kettle back on, stare out to sea and watch another deep red sunset. Heaven!

Disliked It's not a dislike but a couple of hours adults only in the pool would be nice early doors.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Joanne,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for awarding us a perfect 10/10 — it’s lovely to hear that you completely unwound during your stay and enjoyed those deep red sunsets. Five nights really does fly by here, and we’re delighted you didn’t want to leave.

Thank you also for your suggestion about having a couple of adults‑only hours in the pool. With the wide range of guests we welcome — families, couples, solo travellers, seasonal visitors and holiday homeowners — it’s not something we can realistically manage in a fair and practical way. However, we do try to make things as easy as possible for adults who prefer a quieter swim.

Although the pool is advertised as opening at 10am, we almost always have the gates open from around 9am, and adults are very welcome to use the pool during that early period. It’s a lovely calm time of day, and one to remember for your next visit.

Thank you again for your kind words — we’re so pleased you had such a relaxing stay, and we hope to welcome you back soon for another peaceful break by the sea.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Liked Beautiful cliff top views, excellent swimming pool, very quiet particularly on our first night. Pleasant, helpful staff. Mature well tended gardens on parts of the site. Reasonable proximity to Aberystwyth but a good job we took our e-bikes! TV reception.

Disliked Very narrow, steep, long approach road that was quite an ordeal for our classic motor home! No pub or local shops in proximity. Not very well stocked on site shop. Some BBQ items would have been good and a coffee shop/bar facilities in the games room. You had to pay for WiFi but 5G just about good enough

From the manager: Hi Mark,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay with us.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful clifftop views, swimming pool, peaceful atmosphere and the friendly service from our team. It's also great to know you appreciated the well-maintained grounds and our coastal location.

We understand your comments regarding the approach road, nearby amenities and the shop. However, we would always encourage guests to thoroughly research their chosen destination before booking. The access road, our rural location, distance from local shops and pubs, and the facilities available on site are all clearly described within our listing and park information prior to reservation.

Likewise, our shop is advertised as a small convenience store stocking everyday essentials rather than providing a full supermarket-style offering. That said, we fully recognise there is scope to expand and improve this area, and this is already part of our development plans.

We are currently focused on completing our new washroom and facilities building, which has been a major investment for the park. Once this project is complete, our attention will turn to further improvements to the shop, office and reception areas, allowing us to offer a wider range of products and enhanced services for our guests.

Morfa Bychan's unique appeal has always been its peaceful coastal setting, spectacular sea views and escape from busy commercial areas. While this may not suit everyone's preferences, it is exactly what many guests choose us for and return to enjoy year after year.

Thank you again for your balanced review and valuable feedback. We hope to welcome you back in the future and show you the improvements currently underway.

Warm regards,

The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Local attractions

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
