Hubbles all day breakfast
Lake 5 17lb 10oz mirror carp
Lake 5 view from our motorhome pitch

  • Dog-friendly Norfolk site with relaxing fishing lakes and a woodland
  • Half an hour’s drive from Thetford Forest’s Go Ape and High Lodge
  • Catfish, carp, tench, silverfish and more over five well-stocked lakes
Anglers and adventurers, get ready, because Fendicks Fishery is a stunning Norfolk site with five well-stocked fishing lakes and a mature woodland, just half an hour’s drive from Thetford Forest. Out there, there’s plenty of adventuring to be done, with High Lodge and its Go Ape centre as a good starting point. There's a well-balanced atmosphere at this site, as the team have worked hard over the years to manage and landscape the grounds so that there’s a good combination of nature and fishing. Anglers have access to five lakes with a variety of fish up for grabs, including catfish (weighing in at over 95 lbs), carp, tench, silverfish and more. With 32 acres of mature woodland surrounding the lake, peaceful and scenic are two words that accurately Fendicks Fishery. Plus, there’s a splendid set-up in terms of facilities, with a toilet and shower block that’s kept toasty by underfloor heating, a washing-up area, washing machines, information room, Elsan points and the reception area. All the grassy pitches have access to electric hook-up (how handy). When you’re not unwinding around the acres of space around this well-kept site or spending an afternoon fishing, you could take off onto the miles of paths around Thetford Forest or head further out onto the Norfolk coast, which will take you around an hour’s drive or just over.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked What a wonderful place ! We were asked which pitch we would like - then later we changed our minds. But that didn't matter to them, they just moved us to one more suitable and helped us - so kind.
The restaurant was busy but despite that we were well looked after, again nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, freshly made to order and arrived all together despite there being 7 of us. When we left a tip the staff came to tell us we had overpaid - very impressed with their honesty.
The site was full and we expected noise but it was so peaceful.
Can't recommend highly enough, we will definitely be back 🥰

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Great people, very helpful. Loved the wildlife. The bar was cheaper than pub prices. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Loved seeing the bikes on the Wednesday. Entertainment was also good and it was free.. As it was holiday time I expected some unruly kids, but they were all well behaved. A credit to the parents. The site overall was kept rubbish free, clean and tidy. Every unit had a huge amount of space. You weren't packed in. Hot showers and clean toilets. The majority of the pitches are level. The price was also good. If you didn't use all of your electric you got refunded what you didn't use and the electric wasn't at an inflated price. We used less than £4 a day. That's a touring caravan with 4 adults charging mobile phones, 800w microwave, kettle,tv and lights. The fishing looked to be great with some big fish being caught. I didn't see any litter on the site, only a couple of bits in the family shower. This was our 3rd visit, the first 2 was with a motorcycle club.

Disliked The person strimming at 8am! If you must strim at that time in the morning get an electric strimmer. This is not a reflection of the site but some of the pesants that were there. Leave the showers as you would expect to find them! Someone who was fishing left fishing related rubbish on the shower floor. Also a squeegee on a handle is supplied, I did the floor after the nerderwell that last used it left it all wet, you’re welcome. not just the shower but the whole floor. Lazy commoner, I can only imagine how scummy your home is.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Beautiful site, lovely lodges placed around trees and the lakes. Plus a larger field, dog walks too.
Didn't use the facilities as I used my vans. Waste bins everywhere very handy.

Restaurant and bar, but I didn't use them.

Would recommend lovely views everywhere.

I was in pitch 24, but they moved to be nearer my son who was staying in Maple Pod, which was good of them.

The pod was lovely, clean and nice layout. Did have a problem with no hot water, but it was sorted.

Disliked Not their fault, but lake water very low, made it difficult to get fish out to weigh and take pictures, very steep banks.
Hopefully once we get rain that will correct it.

Local attractions

Head to High Lodge (half an hour’s drive) to kickstart your tour of Thetford Forest. There are all sorts of ways to become one with the forest, from hiring out a Segway, taking an archery lesson or finding your zen with forest yoga. Go Ape Thetford (half an hour) will require a little bravery and some acrobatic skills for its treetop courses and zipwires, but on the ground, there are three cycling trails and four footpaths to follow from High Lodge. If you’re looking to find some places where the kids are likely to be entertained, Banham Zoo (35 minutes) is one such place, as are Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm Stow Bardolph (15 minutes), two farm parks with a variety of animals and farm-style activities. A day at the coast is also possible from this site… just pick your seafront of choice. Perhaps Hunstanton (55 minutes) and Cromer (an hour and 20 minutes) to the north, or Great Yarmouth (an hour and 10 minutes) to the east? Towards the coast is Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes), a nice choice to see working steam locomotives in the flesh.
