Liked: First time staying and we absolutely loved it! Facilities were clean especially the showers and toilet block! Loved the fact you only pay for the electricity you use, would highly recommend. The staff were all really helpful and kind thank you for a great stay, we will most definitely be back!

Liked: Very tidy site, well maintained, very generous pitch size. On site cafe/bar very reasonable prices. Excellent Sunday lunch. Pay as you go electric, we liked that we only paid for what we used and pitch fees very reasonable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Already booked to return and have recommended to several friends.

The Suffolk Horn cabin

Liked: It was a very quiet even though it’s quite busy with lots of people fishing everybody was very friendly. The Wi-Fi was really good. Toilet looked very clean. and the site was well looked after.

Disliked: one night the fisherman put on really bright lights that woke me up several times in the night.

Liked: I booked an electric tent pitch for my stay. The pitch size was great and I didn't feel cramped at all. The fishing lakes were busy but the whole site didn't seem crowded. Everyone was friendly and respectful and there was a lovely life and atmosphere about the place. I didn't use the restaurant etc but I did have a peek on one of my walks around and they looked popular and inviting. The toilet block was new but also well maintained and lovely and warm at night. Good washing up facilities. There were quite a few cabins dotted around and I might try one of those in the future as they looked really good! Would definitely return. Thank you.

Liked: Very well maintained outside areas. Grounds kept very neat & tidy. Lovely to have a bar & cafe on site. Jukebox is a nice addition.

Disliked: Shower block needs updating, tired. Ladies toilets had glasses & loo rolls scattered across the floor which was disappointing to see.

Cabin

Liked: Lovely stay in the Bluebell Lodge. Suited our needs perfectly. All amenities that we needed were available.

Disliked: Just 2 little niggles. One being that anything placed on worktop above fridge rattled so we had to place a teatowel under microwave in order to have a quiet night sleep. Second one is that you could do with a little step at end of the bed as a shorter person in our party struggled to get up on the high bed.

Local attractions

Head to High Lodge (half an hour’s drive) to kickstart your tour of Thetford Forest. There are all sorts of ways to become one with the forest, from hiring out a Segway, taking an archery lesson or finding your zen with forest yoga. Go Ape Thetford (half an hour) will require a little bravery and some acrobatic skills for its treetop courses and zipwires, but on the ground, there are three cycling trails and four footpaths to follow from High Lodge. If you’re looking to find some places where the kids are likely to be entertained, Banham Zoo (35 minutes) is one such place, as are Melsop Farm Park (35 minutes) and Church Farm Stow Bardolph (15 minutes), two farm parks with a variety of animals and farm-style activities. A day at the coast is also possible from this site… just pick your seafront of choice. Perhaps Hunstanton (55 minutes) and Cromer (an hour and 20 minutes) to the north, or Great Yarmouth (an hour and 10 minutes) to the east? Towards the coast is Bressingham Steam & Gardens (40 minutes), a nice choice to see working steam locomotives in the flesh.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the Hubbles Or Rondo's which just behind the office..
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
Refunds within the indicated cancellation period are only possible if the site is able to relet your unit/pitch.
The fishing lakes are stocked with Cat, carp, tench,.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
This site does have a catch-and-return fishing policy in place.
You'll need an Environment Agency rod licence (you'll need to apply for this beforehand).

Hired accommodation

No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

Occupancy

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Pitches

A cable measuring at least 20 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Firearms are not permitted.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
