Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, England
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked I was lucky enough to have the camping field to myself. Absolutely loved my stay; wish I could've stayed longer. Rural setting; barely any traffic noise; plenty of bird life; clean and modern toilets; showers, pot washing and laundry room; friendly owner; great jumping off point for seeing north Lincolnshire; 6 miles from petrol station and big supermarket for stocking up. I'd go back again in a heartbeat.

Coleford, Gloucestershire, England
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Lovely compact site with all the amenities you need set in a quiet rural area. Great price. Friendly, helpful staff. Hot drinks and breakfast snacks available in the A.M. (and very tasty!). Good clean toilets and showers maintained daily (lights are motion sensored so be prepared to finish your shower/toilet in the dark!) Great access routes for Tintern Abbey, Monmouth, Chepstow, Forest of Dean and beyond. Would recommend to all and visit again tomorrow.

From the manager: Thanks for the feedback - we are getting ready to re-open so I will look at the light sensors - no one enjoys a shower in the dark! We hope to welcome you back.

Pick your non-electric grass pitch
Liked Plenty of space to pitch and all other campers very quiet and respectful. Simple but clean and functional washing and shower facilities, gel and shampoo provided. Super quiet and no disturbance from traffic noise. At night you could hear the sea and the plowsh of the waves from about half a mile away, very calming and a lovely background noise. Never saw any staff but they run a good ship and I was really happy with my stay there. Would stay again without hesitation and recommend to all. Dog friendly and child friendly, and even I saw a cat on a lead, so it's cat friendly too :-D Didn't try the wifi, can't comment on that.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Everything! Super welcome on arrival, really friendly and helpful owners, great facilities (even washing up liquid supplied in the washing up station!), everything clean and tidy too, use of a fridge for chilled stuff, lovely views from the pitch, easy walking distance to the town - no pavements on the first section so watch out for traffic till you get to the main road, - I genuinely can't fault a thing and will definitely be returning in the future for another stay :-)

Church Stretton, Shropshire, England
Lakeside non-electric grass tent pitch (small)
Liked No manmade noise save for an occasional chainsaw and a quad bike. Otherwise a beautiful peaceful setting, so many nature sounds - horses, geese, pheasants, sturgeon rolling in the lake, a nearby peacock, owls hooting in the night - I saw a mandarin duck on the lake, red kites flying overhead. If you're a light and touchy sleeper, this isn't the place for you. At dawn chorus the geese kicked up a right racket, but it's their habitat, and only yours temporarily. Lots of land to walk and explore including 4 pools and woods intersected by a babbling stream. About 4 miles from Church Stretton proper where there's a Co-op for a food shop, and Applegreen filling station with super cheap fuel, and has a Costa and Greggs inside. Super friendly and helpful owners, spartan but adequate facilities, leaping off spot for lots of Shropshire places of interest, heartily recommend to all but the anti-nature fairweather camper ;-)
Disliked That I wasn't staying longer!

From the manager: Apologies for the quad and chainsaws, we try to use them as little as possible to maintain the peace and tranquillity of the site that you mention, but sometimes they are indeed necessary lol we're glad you enjoyed your stay, thanks for the lovely review and we hope to see you again sometime.
Bakewell, Derbyshire, England
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Plenty of space and level pitches in top field, parking next to tent, free from traffic noise and practically silent when the wind dropped, herd of cows in neighbouring field, good clean facilities, separate bins for recycling, brilliant price.
Disliked Hot water for showers and washing up is extra, but that's a minor grumble when the pitch is already so cheap. Not sure if there was wifi but I couldn't get a signal.

Malvern, Worcestershire, England
Non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch
Liked Has all things you need: water, waste disposal, place to wash up, showers and toilets, free wifi, in a nice quiet rural setting (a little bit of traffic noise from the main road, but hardly noticeable), pub next door for drinks and evening meals, friendly staff, quiet respectful residents, a really pleasant stay :-)
Disliked The pigeon that kept crapping on my tent!

Carlisle, Cumbria, England
Electric grass pitch
Liked The accessibility to the city but set in a rural location; easy to find; a working farm so seeing horses, cows and sheep; very friendly and helpful owner; plenty of pitch space (I had the whole field to myself the first night); several taps for water and electric hook-ups if you needed them; distant traffic noise and passing trains the only noise, otherwise a quiet, private and peaceful site; fires permitted in fire pits
Disliked Just a bit expensive, I've paid less for hostels both in the UK and abroad; no hot running water

From the manager: Thanks so much for your lovely review. We are really sorry about the running water. There should be hot water in all the toilets. if we had known we would have definitely rectified this for you. Safe travels 😀
Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland
High Meadow non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked I loved this place, it had so much going for it. A covered public area for food and drink. A super cool 1950s American all-chrome trailer snackbar. Yurts dotted about. Wooded area, open area, brilliant surrounding views. A kids mountain biking park alongside. A sustainable food project going on. Reliable Wifi connection. Decent toilets. Friendly people. The only thing wrong was the awful weather, but no one can blame Comrie Croft for that! I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat.
