Camping in Carmarthenshire? Pick a pod or pitch, bring your own wheels/canvas or rent your accommodation once there, and settle down at a Carmarthenshire campsite to pick from sightseeing and activities all around. This is the ‘garden of Wales’ and has the National Botanic Garden of Wales near Llanarthne and the 10 acres of flowery grounds at fifteenth century Aberglasney Gardens in the Tywi valley,  alongside other south Wales attractions  like trout and salmon fishing on the River Towy and donning a crash helmet for an underground excursion at the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, the only Roman gold mines discovered in Britain. So far at least: we’re hopeful.

Also, ever read/listened to Under Milk Wood? Course you have, you’re not a complete heathen. You might know then that the fictional town of Llareggub is probably based on the Carmarthenshire town of Laugharne where Dylan Thomas wrote several of his main pieces of work: we’d have probably felt a bit poetic with the clifftop and Taf Estuary views he had from his house too. His home, The Boathouse, is now a heritage centre and open to visitors – go see.
