  • Award-winning site in the small Carmarthenshire village of Cenarth
  • A 15-minute drive from the coast; 45 minutes from Oakwood theme park
  • Bar and restaurant on site, with a spa and pool for an additional fee
Waterfall walks, cheese appreciation, leaping salmon, bobbing about in a coracle… there are several reasons why folk would settle in the little Carmarthenshire village of Cenarth. And you can add to that mix the fine collection of facilities at Cenarth Falls Resort, an award-winning site 10 minutes’ walk from the village’s pubs, cafés and small supermarket. Many certificates of excellence have been bestowed upon this park over the years – even the toilet block has been the recipient of its own gong. Bring the kids along, though, and they won’t bat an eyelid at such things – they’ll most likely be rather too distracted by spending time at the play area or challenging pals in the games room. The on-site spa, bar and restaurant are some of the real highlights of this resort – it’s a place where you can settle with a drink in the comfy bar or pay a little extra for access to the adjacent spa, which has an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and a gym. At some point, for more food perhaps, it’s worth heading over to the nearest town, Newcastle Emlyn, five minutes’ drive away, for self-catering supplies and/or a range of pubs, restaurants and takeaways.

Liked Amazing spa and bar. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Everything was reasonably priced and a beautiful little village with a couple of pubs, shops, cafes and a beautiful Riverside walk. Wifi reached to the caravan. All toilet, shower and disposal facilities were immaculate. We're definitely visiting again I really can't speak highly enough of this place we absolutely lived every second there

Liked What a little gem of a place. Facilities were clean. Nice little club house and the leisure facilities look good too.

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked Surrounding area of the falls was lovely. The gardens on site were well tended. Pre information was useful.

Disliked Run down spa facilities that you pay 8.00 to go in. The pool water needed changing and pool cleaning. Neither dryer was working. It felt that the tourers were an after thought. There was a lot of work being carried out on site.

The toilets, were clean enough a little dated. Pitches were level.

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked On arrival we were greeted by a nice lady who directed us to our pitch. The indoor spa/swimming pool looked great unfortunately didn’t make it in for a swim.

Disliked The outdoor pool looked really run down and unusable.
When trying to contact the resort via telephone prior to arrival no one was available to answer my call. I rang a few times leading up to arrival to see if we could make adjustments to our booking but no luck. The morning after our arrival we wanted to talk to someone in the office but again no one was there, we had problems with our caravan and wanted to ask for a local repairer but because no one was there we decided to go home. We arrived at 4pm and left the following morning at 10am.

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked The spa facilities were good and sensible booking system so never felt overcrowded.

Disliked Hard standing for tents. Grass would have been more comfortable. Staffing issues meant a lack of basics like toilet paper on some days buy hopefully the issue has since been sorted.

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked Loved the friendly and helpful staff and the Spa facilities are great. However it would have been nice to have some water available in the spa area. Great location for the falls and a great pub within walking distance that serves great food.

Disliked We were on pitches 11 and 12 which are great when the sun is out but do dip away quite a lot so you do need deep ramps to level up the van. The toilet facilities although kept clean are limited and in need of a refurb! One toilet and 2 urinals in the gents is limited given the number of pitches (there is a second toilet as part of the disabled shower but again only two showers overall) so often

Local attractions

You’ll want to start with a stroll around Cenarth, of course – those waterfalls are a 10-minute walk away, and the Teifi river is an excellent place for an amble, particularly when the salmon are jumping in late summer. It’s worth stopping in at the village’s National Coracle Centre to learn a bit about the traditional round boats, and taking the 10-minute drive to Caws Cenarth to sample the tasty local cheese. Cenarth’s also a handy location for outings to the coast – try Cardigan (15 minutes’ drive) for dolphin-spotting trips, or Aberporth (20 minutes) for beach days – or walks in the Preseli Hills, around 15 minutes away by car. Cilgerran Castle (15 minutes), the National Trust estate at Llanerchaeron (35 minutes) and the tiny city of St Davids (an hour) also make excellent days out. And if you’ve got the kids along, it’s quite possible (and reasonable) that they’ll be keen to add to the schedule days at Oakwood theme park and meeting the only giraffes in Wales at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (both around 45 minutes’ drive).
