  • Compact and friendly adults-only site in the scenic Towy valley
  • Just off the A40, 15 mins' drive from Carmarthen and 10 from Llandeilo
  • Welsh landmarks such as Aberglasney Gardens around five minutes away
Sandwiched between two working dairy farms in a cracking countryside setting is adults-only Towy Valley Caravan Park, with views of the green Carmarthenshire surrounds. It's also in a strategic sightseeing position between the towns of Llandeilo and Carmarthen, and just off the main A40 road. But where to first…? Perhaps have a gander at the gorgeous Edwardian cloister gardens of Aberglasney, just over five minutes’ drive away, or the National Botanic Garden of Wales and its massive single-span glasshouse (it’s the longest in the world…), about 10 minutes away. All those heady floral scents got you feeling the need for another lie-down? Head back to the park – preferably with some treats picked up in Llandeilo, about 10 minutes away, for a meal while watching the sun go down across the valley scenery. Towy Valley Caravan Park has free modern and heated shower and bathroom facilities. Washing-up and chemical disposal facilities are also available, and public transport is accessible from just outside the site if you’d like to travel the region without your vehicle.

Liked Simon is such a lovely person, made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived he honestly couldn’t have done enough for us.
Simon also gives you a welcome pack on arrival, the information is so useful.
The showers are stunning! The pressure the cleanliness and the fact you can put a heater on when you get in them.
You want for nothing.
Will Definitely be visiting again.

Liked We had another lovely stay at this well kept ,quiet site with a wonderful outlook of the countryside and cows next door . The toilets and showers were spotless, one of the best we’ve come across. Simon the warden was very helpful and pleasant. Lots to see and do from this secluded base in the Towy Valley.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Large, flat pitches - well spaced out and maintained
Stunning countryside views
Hot, powerful showers
Clean and tidy site
Host was very welcoming
Reasonably priced

Disliked Having to keep pressing the button for the shower
Site is located alongside a main road which can generate traffic noise, not that you take any notice as the birdsong drowns it out

From the manager: Thank you for your comments ,I recall you were very new to caravaning and as explained to yourselves we have the longest time duration shower buttons available at the moment , to offset this we have powerful water pressure as you noticed in your review. Shower buttons or paid timers are the norm on campsites to enable the next person to enjoy a hot shower also . Good luck with your new purchase ,kindest regards. Simon

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Pretty much everything. We had a very warm welcome from Simon who texted us before we arrived. On arrival he helped us with everything including advice on the local buses which proved most useful. The wash up area is large with a sink for rinsing and even a hook for the tea towel The toilets and showers are modern and clean. There is a WiFi spot by the toilets and the TV and mobile signals were strong. The rural bus service stops right outside and there is a two hourly service to Llandeilo and Camarthen. There is so much to do nearby too: Gwili Railway, Aberglasny Gardens and the National Welsh Botanic Gardens as well as several castles. There was a little road noise during the day but it was really peaceful otherwise and we spotted a couple of squirrels on site. Our pitch had reasonably metered electric and water. We will definitely come back if we are in the area.

Local attractions

The Towy Valley is home to a clutch of excellent Welsh sights, from the hilltop Dinefwr Castle, a 15-minute drive away (climb up to the walls for stunning views over the countryside), to the sweeping estuary and castle at the pretty village of Laugharne (half an hour). Another must-see castle, Carreg Cennen, sits on the top of a limestone precipice around a 20-minute drive away, with views across the Brecon Beacons National Park; get your hiking boots on for walks around this area, one of Wales’ most postcard-worthy, passing by waterfalls and ponds enroute. (Still more appetite for castles? Drive to Dryslwyn Castle in five minutes – or hike over in about 45 minutes.) If you’re feeling lazy, drive to Carmarthen (20 minutes from the site) instead to jump on the Gwili Steam Railway’s antique train or dip in and out of the boutiques. Love a legend? Locals reckon Merlin was born in this market town – there are even the remains of an old oak tree named after the wizard in the foyer of St. Peter’s Civic Hall.
