Hardstanding pitches (added by manager 02 feb 2024)

  • Small modern motorhome park on the edge of Pendine village
  • A five-minute walk from Pendine Sands and Museum of Speed
  • Fully serviced hardstanding pitches; dogs welcome
Pendine Sands is famed as the location for several land speed records – and it’s likely you’ll want to get a move on with booking when you see the location of Hafan Y Mor Motororhome Park. This small but well-equipped Carmarthenshire motorhome park is on the edge of the village of Pendine, looking out over green space to the sea beyond. That stunning seven-mile stretch of sand (where Malcolm Campbell and Parry Thomas set their world records) is about five minutes’ walk away, with rock pools to poke about in.and coast path walks to show you some more of the scenery. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards in summer so it’s a good place for a family beach day. This is an excellent location for a coastal break – as well as being so close to the beach, the park also has lots of handy village facilities within a few minutes walk, including cafés, pubs and shops. The village has a playground and an activity centre that can help you organise watersports, surf lessons and land-based activities like archery. The Museum of Speed is a short walk away as well, and there are often races or events held on the beach (Hot Rod racing, motocross and even the odd world record attempt…) Things have been kept nice and simple on site – it’s a self-check-in site with key code entry and well-marked hardstanding pitches. Each pitch has an electric connection and a picnic table, and there are chemical disposal and motorhome service points to help keep your vehicle in working order.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Simple, well laid out, uncomplicated, "it does what is says on the tin"!! Beach is only a 4 minute walk. Delightful to have a peaceful stay without lots of neighbours, traffic, to-ing and fro-ing. Obviously the only facilities are the essential ones you need - electric hook up, water tap, refuse area, drain for grey water, drain for toilet water, dog poo bag bin. However there is a very nice convenience store 1 minute walk away, and indeed cafes, fish & chip shop, etc if you need anything.

Disliked: Only thing to be aware of is that the beach is restricted between 8am to 4pm weekdays due to the adjacent MoD firing range. Outside of these times (and all day weekends) you have access to miles and miles of perfect sand. But within the restricted hours the beach is limited to maybe 800 yds, but this is still good for swimming and short walks.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Easy access from main road. Simple, clean and tidy site. Thoughtful maintenance guy - came and warned us which area he had just put weed killer down in (we have a dog).

Disliked: Grey water disposal quite tricky. You need a pipe or a bucket. We did manage with bucket though. Not a major issue.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Site was easy to find, and very accessible. Level gravel with grass to the side, clean and tidy. Close to road but not noisy. Miles of golden sandy walks and plenty of food and drinks near by. It does state no loo or shower facilities clearly when you book. Would recommend and will be back.

Disliked: Nothing, it is exactly as described.

Disliked: If only there was a toilet/shower block, so found the price of £27.50 a little over priced!
