It’s a bit contrast-y, West Sussex. But of course that’s why it’s fab. On the one hand you’ve got the seaside resort Bognor Regis for the kids to clatter about with their buckets and spades on the award-winning beach. On the other hand, six miles from Bognor Regis there’s the ancient city of Chichester, with a Norman cathedral, Fishbourne Roman Palace and the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. And on the third, er, hand, there’s the West Sussex section of the South Downs National Park, stately homes, market towns, family attractions and gardens galore – and we haven’t even mentioned Arundel Castle yet…
Fourth hand? West Sussex is also a wildlife haven, with the Solent’s smallest harbour Pagham Harbour just south of Chichester and designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest; there’s also geese – and deer – spotting at the RSPB reserve Pulborough Brooks or seeing the rarest goose in the world at WWT Arundel.
West Sussex campsites and holiday parks should have you covered whatever your reason for visiting, with a range of accommodation available to filter by themes, amenities, nearby leisure and dozens more.
