  • Large, family-friendly touring park on Seal Bay Resort
  • A 10-minute walk to the sea and a 20-minute drive from Chichester
  • Includes access to facilities at nearby parks (shuttle bus provided)
Here's a cracking Sussex spot – with 11 acres of flat grassy grounds to its name, Warner Farm Touring Park is located on the southern tip of Selsey Bill. Both the centre of village of Selsey and the Solent coast are under a mile away, and a host of top-notch leisure activities are available nearby. The friendly folk who run this place have teamed up with neighbouring sites so that guests have free access to a wide range of facilities (bars, restaurants, kids' clubs, pools and a gym are all on the cards). Whether you're looking to get a sweat on, indulge in a soak or simply sunbathe by the pool, a handy shuttle bus is provided free of charge to chauffeur you around. (Please note, though, that your motorhome/campervan will need to stay in place at Warner Farm, and not be driven between the parks.) In addition to these perks, RSPB Medmerry Nature Reserve is located right next door, making it even easier to relax and unwind: make tracks here for marshland walks, cycle trails and spectacular seaside views. Facilities-wise, there's no need to venture far for the essentials: showers, toilets (including family washrooms and baby changing), charging points and a laundry room are all provided on site. Furry friends are welcome at Warner Farm Touring Park, as are barbecues. Pubs and a nifty local food shop are a 10-minute walk away.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Good facilities. Bus to other sites and activities good although drivers could be a bit more friendly. Showers clean, lots of loos and showers so that was great. Peaceful at night. Really great beachfront area with heated exterior seating. Lots for young kids to do.

Disliked: Paid for dog and assumed it was a dog friendly site but it isn’t really. Couldn’t access pools, amusements, restaurants or anything really except Viking bar. There should be more pathways so that people don’t walk over your pitch. Lots of no ball games signed but still went on and was worried about ball hitting camper

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Friendly staff. Clean wash blocks.

Disliked: Hottest day of the year and the outdoor swimming pool doesn’t open on Fridays and Mondays because the staff are too busy! Only the indoor pool was open but only until 4.30 pm. Noise level was dreadful. Large group of very intimidating young men mucking about in the mixed changing room causing problems. Food in the Pirate Restaurant extremely poor quality and tasteless. Site is so big that people drive everywhere so lots of traffic and no pavements so not safe. Touring pitches in a large field with no trees or hedges so feels like a Carpark and people constantly walking through your pitch. Site is extremely crowded and noisy and very expensive. Stony beach - no sand.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: I went with my four year old son on our first camping trip together. The younger lady on check in was excellent and very friendly. The pitch was a decent size and well marked out with easy access to water and the electric hook up. The site is well designed and laid out with the toilet block right in the middle so not too far for anyone. The facilities were decent too and clearly well maintained. It wasn’t too noisy but I get the impression it would get more lively during school holidays. Access to the adjacent caravan park and facilities was a major perk. Free swimming and soft play etc, plenty of children’s parks and they even had a dog training area next to the nearest park.

Disliked: The facilities had a family room and my son and I walked to reception to borrow the key. I was told it was a £10 deposit but cash only, something I never carry. I offered to actually pay £10 or leave my car key with them for 30 mins. The lady, ok reception, who was older than the one who had checked us in, was quite blunt about it which I thought was unnecessary. Camp sites are usually very friendly and accommodating. Later my son had hurt his foot and I asked if they had a cool pack in their first aid kit and was told that they didn’t even have a first aid kit on the site but they could radio for one. I’m not quite sure how they get through their health and safety risk assessments. The staff might not be first aid trained but I am as I’m sure many others who visit the site are. Perhaps my expectations are too high here but room for improvement I feel. (Yes I do carry first aid basics myself but not a cool pack which is what I needed).

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Very welcoming organised clean and super friendly helpful staff. Superb facilities and restaurants (excellent food) bars ,activities and private beach. The complex is large but very well maintained. I only stopped over for one night for Goodwood but wished I had longer. Not ususally a fan of big sites but this was brilliant I have to say and cannot fault it

Disliked: Nothing

Local attractions

Fancy a day at the races? The Goodwood Estate (25 minutes' drive) plays host to heaps of horsey action alongside regular motor racing festivals and concerts. If you feel like having a go in the saddle yourself, the stables in nearby West Wittering (25 minutes) are well-placed for beachfront canters. History buffs will find much to keep them busy around these parts: the cathedral city of Chichester is 20 minutes away, as is Fishbourne Roman Palace, the largest Roman villa excavated in Britain. For further regal residences, head to Arundel (half an hour) and the town's stunning castle and gardens. For naval history, the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth (35 minutes) should be just the ticket. Portsmouth is also home to more contemporary attractions: Gunwharf Quays shopping outlet is a fab spot to bag designer labels at a discount price, while the Spinnaker Tower's lofty viewing platform has spectacular vistas over the harbour, the sea and the nearby Isle of Wight. Worthing (50 minutes) is another coastal spot that's well worth the trip: energetic visitors might fancy hiking up the country's largest hill fort at Cissbury Ring, while genteel types may prefer a leisurely stroll along the pier.
