General

  • Large, family-friendly touring park on Selsey Bill, West Sussex
  • A 10-minute walk to the sea and a 20-minute drive from Chichester
  • Includes access to facilities at nearby parks (shuttle bus provided)

Here's a cracking Sussex spot – with 11 acres of flat grassy grounds to its name, Warner Farm Touring Park is located on the southern tip of Selsey Bill. Both the centre of village of Selsey and the Solent coast are under a mile away, and a host of top-notch leisure activities are available nearby.

The friendly folk who run this place have teamed up with neighbouring sites so that guests have free access to a wide range of facilities (bars, restaurants, kids' clubs, pools and a gym are all on the cards). Whether you're looking to get a sweat on, indulge in a soak or simply sunbathe by the pool, a handy shuttle bus is provided free of charge to chauffeur you around.

In addition to these perks, RSPB Medmerry Nature Reserve is located right next door, making it even easier to relax and unwind: make tracks here for marshland walks, cycle trails and spectacular seaside views.

Facilities-wise, there's no need to venture far for the essentials: showers, toilets (including family washrooms and baby changing), charging points and a laundry room are all provided on site. Furry friends are welcome at Warner Farm Touring Park, as are barbecues. Pubs and a nifty local food shop are a 10-minute walk away.

This site is a member of Bunn Leisure group.

    • Great facilities that catered for all.
    • Cleanliness of toilets/bathrooms and only had to wait a short time for access but mostly in straight away.
    • Great location - walking distance to pub/restaurants off site.
    • Easy access to beach.
    • Friendly/Helpful staff.
    • Efficient check in/out process.

    Disliked:

    • Unable to take commercial vehicle on site. We would have loved to been able to take my partners work van so we were able to bring our bicycles and paddles boards etc. We rang ahead of our visit to change our vehicle to this but was told Bunns Leisure policy is no commercial vehicles. This was really disappointing for us and the assistant was unable to articulate why this is and the response was “it’s just our policy”. On arrival to the site down a public side road there was a line of commercial vehicles parked which I can only presume were there from other visitors on site. If I lived near the site I would see this as a real nuisance, especially as this is right outside a school. It would be good if Bunns leisure could revise this policy to avoid the above and cater to customers like us and others who might not have access to any other vehicles.

Great campsite, really good experience for all of us. Really good facilities and variety of things to do. Pitches are well maintained and things seemed run really well. We would definitely recommend this campsite.

Food at the eateries was also very nice - best vegan burger I've had I think.

The location is really good. West Wittering beach is 30 minutes drive, but so worth it - one of the best sandy beaches in the country maybe? Well serviced by the life guards and a very safe beach for young families as it gets deeper very slowly.

    Disliked:

Not really a dislike of a campsite - but Selsey is the more stony area of beach in that area. Go to West Wittering for a day on the beach.

    Clean and good facilities.
    Staff were friendly and welcoming.
    Lovely beach and clean water.
Pool was nice and clean and organised.
Patrols in the morning and afternoon.

    Disliked:

What I would suggest is more patrols in the evening, more organised patrols, as we were situated in the quiet area thankfully but near the toilets and shower area in the late afternoon and evenings was awful. Children as young as 5-7 and older were using dreadful language, swearing my children were very surprised. Not only that they were staring for attention.
In a family park this really needs to be addressed but also handled in a professional way.
Would I revisit possibly NOT as its very off putting and pushes people away.

Local attractions

Fancy a day at the races? The Goodwood Estate (25 minutes' drive) plays host to heaps of horsey action alongside regular motor racing festivals and concerts. If you feel like having a go in the saddle yourself, the stables in nearby West Wittering (25 minutes) are well-placed for beachfront canters.

History buffs will find much to keep them busy around these parts: the cathedral city of Chichester is 20 minutes away, as is Fishbourne Roman Palace, the largest Roman villa excavated in Britain. For further regal residences, head to Arundel (half an hour) and the town's stunning castle and gardens. For naval history, the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth (35 minutes) should be just the ticket.

Portsmouth is also home to more contemporary attractions: Gunwharf Quays shopping outlet is a fab spot to bag designer labels at a discount price, while the Spinnaker Tower's lofty viewing platform has spectacular vistas over the harbour, the sea and the nearby Isle of Wight. Worthing (50 minutes) is another coastal spot that's well worth the trip: energetic visitors might fancy hiking up the country's largest hill fort at Cissbury Ring, while genteel types may prefer a leisurely stroll along the pier.

Must see

  • Fishbourne Roman Palace (10.9 kilometres)
  • Chichester Cathedral (11.0 kilometres)
