Liked: Very clean and well maintained site, nice new shower block. Singer on a Saturday was very good so we will be back.
Disliked: Pitch 8 to close to toilets.
Step to pot wash a trip hazard

Liked: Good sized, fully serviced pitches in a well laid out mixed site. New shower facilities opened during our stay look excellent. Cafe and marina on site.
Disliked: Our pitch was the other side of the hedge to the access road and by the barrier and footpath to reception. Some people persistently walked across our pitch and it could be a little noisy with traffic at times - not enough to really disturb our stay.

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked: The surroundings of the countryside is lovely. Pretty marina with lots of narrow boats. Very friendly people who worked at the marina/caravan park. Good modern facilities i.e. nice free showers with dispensers of shampoo & conditioner. Free hairdryer (although a very weak one).
Easy access to walk along the canal.
The owners are clearly upgrading all the time - there were new toilet & showers being installed near the caravan & camping area.
Our friends had coffee on one morning from the nice cafe (£10 for 2).
The pitch we stayed on with EHU was £40 per night (2 adults). June 2025.
Disliked: There is nothing to dislike about the site, although the most expensive one we’ve ever pitched up on.
If you like walking though you need to be aware that once you leave the canal pathway, the roads are fast B roads, even though their names are “lanes”.
There is a lovely pub The Badger Inn, about 2 mile walk that was safe to walk to along the canal - make sure you come back the same way because the road is busy. The pub served very nice food.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: The cafe was nice, staff very friendly, looking out over the marina was lovely. Didn’t get to do much walking due to the weather, but there was a guide available in reception with local walks
Disliked: I booked this site as it was close to a toilet block and water source, on arrival when I asked where the toilets were, I was told that the toilets next to the camping pitches had been delayed, so the only ones available were at the rear of the building, not great to have to do a fair walk in the middle of the night with a child who needs the toilet, especially with the rain that we experienced during our stay! This made for a very cold and uncomfortable nights sleep. There were also only 3 toilet cubicles, so had there been more people camping it would have got quite busy I would imagine!

From the manager: Thank you for your review and kind comments about our café, friendly staff, and the lovely marina views. We're really pleased you appreciated the walking guide too, even if the weather didn’t cooperate!
We’re very sorry to hear about the inconvenience with the toilet facilities during your stay. We completely understand how difficult that must have been, especially with a child and in poor weather. The delay in opening the closer toilet block was unexpected, and we’re working hard to get it up and running as soon as possible. We also appreciate your feedback about the number of cubicles and will take that into account for future improvements.
We hope to welcome you back under better circumstances soon.
