Peaceful and scenic, Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park is a prime destination for anyone who adores the countryside. Based on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal in Church Minshull, the Cheshire park also has a great set of marina facilities. Visit the award-winning marina’s licensed café and picnic areas to unwind. Set on a 100-acre plot, guests can also watch the wildlife or take a walk along the towpath. There are also showers and 24-hour laundry facilities. For activities outside of the park, there are many shops, cafés and pubs in the market town Nantwich, which is a five-mile drive away. There’s also easy access to the M6 and the B5074 in Church Minshull. Families, couples, small groups and dogs are all welcome at the site.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked: Lovely clean friendly site, excellent porta loos in field with no electric hook up. Would come again.

Disliked: Not a dislike, just wasn't told on arrival where any of the facilities were, but I'm putting that down to the boat show that was on and it was very busy.

Powered gravel caravan site

Liked: General quality of camp site. Big pitches. Services on pitches. Relaxing location. Excellent shower block. Communication to allow easy late check in.

Disliked: Campsite was excellent. Cafe breakfast menu could be expanded. Towpaths not suitable for cycling - but that's not a campsite problem. It was a nettle problem though!

Powered gravel caravan site

Liked: Quite pitches and level, with plenty of birds about. Check in was easy, all information sent on email no need to call to reception. Marina area was very well maintained with beautiful gardens and flowers. Good WiFi connectivity. Shower and toilet block was clean with constant hot water not the push style showers but we found these to be to far away from the pitches, if you don’t have a portable loo it is a couple of minutes walk. Perfect for anyone that wants to get away for only quiet time.

Disliked: Stayed for one night (Friday) cafe/bar was closed nobody was about No tow path to walk down the camel. No walking routes, the main road outside is national speed limit with no footpath, no nature walking trails. Not recommended with child they will get board once they’ve seen the boats. Closest pub was the Royal Oak, £5 Uber trip, beautiful pub with great food. Recommend to try the pizza.

Local attractions

Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park's Cheshire location and easy access from the M6 means it's in a most handy spot to get to heaps of tourist attractions around this part of the north west and Chester. A popular option in the area is Oulton Park, the racing track in the little village of Budworth that bills itself as the most picturesque track in all the land, or you could hike around the wilds of nearby Delamere Forest, or stick to lazy days and potter around small Cheshire villages like Tattenhall and Tarporley. Chester is also easily accessible from the caravan park and has heaps to see among its old streets and swish shops. Animal fans make their way to Chester Zoo on the outskirts of the city to see as many as possible of its 12,000+ animals and over 400 species; if nature is your animalish thing, also get along to the Blue Planet Aquarium and its 100 or so living displays including the biggest school of sharks in Europe. Green fingered? Clear the car boot and drive over to Bridgemere, one of the biggest garden centres in the world and with all things gardenlike as well as toys and clothes in its mammoth shopping centre.
