A group of five of us spent the weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The site is so peaceful. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the shower blocks and loo's were kept super clean. A local shop delivered goods to the site if you ordered before 3pm, the staff there went out of their way to help us out. There were two pubs within walking distance which were also very friendly. Would absolutely recommend.

Could have been a bit more lenient with the car parking arrangements, we had to park outside the park which was a fair walk to our site, and as we had 2 pitches booked, we were being moaned at about our tents overlapping the pitches, even though we had both booked.

From the manager...

Hi Michael, thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We appreciate hearing back from our guests as it allows us the opportunity to see how we could improve. Unfortunately we cannot be lenient on the overlapping pitches as this is a health and safety regulation where we have to leave a safe passage for yourself and other guests in case of a fire emergency. Whilst we understand this can be frustrating as campers may want their pitches to be as close together as possible our number one priority has to be the safety of yourself and all of our other guests. Hopefully we will never have an instance where these safe walkway areas are required but if an occasion ever does arise we want to ensure you and your family are able to exit your dwellings at any time of day or night safely to the emergency gathering point. The car park where your vehicle was requested to park during the time is still within the gated boundaries of the park and securely positioned right in front of our reception area. Again if the pitches are over crowded we request guest to par here to not only comply with the health and safety regulations but also to be accommodating to all other guests. Again thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We hope that our explanation helps to get across the point that we are taking care of yours and our other guests safety.

Thank you so much Ilona for taking the time to leave us some feedback. As a family run business its always important for us to hear from our guests to let us know where we are going right or how we could improve. We are so glad you and your family had an enjoyable stay at the park and look forward to hopefully welcoming you back soon.

Lovely site. Shower and toilets spotless. Loved that they even had a doggy shower, which came in very handy!
A new feature was fish and chip van and ice cream van visiting. Hopefully this will be a regular feature.

Tricky getting onto main road as very small slip road.
Very noisy group on our first night. Unfortunately no staff on site to ensure quiet policy us followed. However the next morning it was quickly dealt with and the noise makers asked to leave. Second night very peaceful!

Local attractions

Oak View Holiday Park is in prime position to traverse the best of Kent's countryside, coast, castles and well-known gardens – with Essex and its coast easily accessible too just to the north.

Plenty of pedalling and perambulating opportunities are around the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as the 153-mile route of the North Downs National Trail through from Farnham to Canterbury, passing the White Cliffs of Dover. This takes in the 119-mile Pilgrims' Way, the supposed route of Thomas Becket from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral.

Elsewhere in Kent, loads is on all year round in the 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens at lovely Leeds Castle (10 minutes’ drive), like free falconry displays, play areas, special events and making one's way intrepidly out of the castle maze. Also see Rochester Castle (20 minutes) on the east bank of the Medway for its 12th-century keep and stacks of historical info: the castle was sacked during the Peasants' Revolt, held for Henry III against the barons, and besieged (also because of barons) by bad King John.

Must see

  • Leeds Castle (4.3 miles)
  • The Historic Dockyard Chatham (6.7 miles)
  • Rochester Cathedral (6.8 miles)

National Trust

  • Stoneacre (3.5 miles)
  • Cobham Wood and Mausoleum (9.4 miles)
