Keen to make the most of everything north Norfolk has to offer on your holiday? Deer's Glade Caravan and Camping Park makes an excellent base for a break – this family-friendly spot is in a strategic location surrounded by woodland but about 10 minutes’ drive from both Aylsham and the coast at Cromer. That setting means you’ll be able to head straight out into the woods (and onto public footpaths beyond) for a peaceful walk whenever you like, but you’ll also be in a great position for getting out and about – to the beach, to the Broads National Park or to one of the area’s many attractions, be it a stately home, a steam railway or a family park. It’s not all about heading out though, as there are nine acres of land to explore right there on site, with the chance to spot deer in the woodland if you’re quiet (and a little bit lucky…). Guests are welcome to fish at the site’s lake, and there’s also a play area and a goat enclosure to keep younger family members amused. The site also has lots of handy facilities including a shop, a wifi service, a launderette, a chemical disposal point and bathrooms with toilets and showers (including wheelchair-accessible facilities). You can also hire e-bikes here for easy jaunts around the surrounding area – and perhaps to one of the lovely local pubs?

Liked Lovely big pitches with deep hedges marking clear boundaries , really clean and tidy and there were so many places that other sites would have used as pitches but this site kept empty. Amenities nice modern and clean , friendly staff on reception , good site shop

Disliked Only two showers per amenity block which was not really enough for a site of this size , terrible WiFi which coupled with absolutely no phone signal makes communication with the outside world a bit difficult

Liked Very modern clean facilities in a beautiful location. We had a 3 day stay in the deluxe electric pitch which was perfect for us. Very friendly staff- couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely return this summer!

Liked Lovely big pitch, with hard standing. All of the staff, in the reception/shop, and out and about the site were very friendly. The shade provided by the many trees was great during the heatwave!
Everything on the site was kept in good order. Very handy for visiting coastal attractions.

Disliked Not a lot.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Reception area very welcoming. Receptionist very friendly and welcoming which was nice after a long drive. Very nicely maintained camp. Electric pitches ample size (10m width)...although a gazebo may have cramped us slightly. Washing up facilities very good (hot water on call). Showers a delight - Quality construction shower units. Massive shower head (hot water on call). Quality toilet facilities - cubicles spacious and very well maintained. On shop site well appointed. Excellent WiFi with very easy connection (No charge). A lovely peaceful woodland setting.

Disliked In our section of camp - only two showers and two toilet cubicles - at busy times queues did form which was a little disconcerting. Both for the shower and toilet cubicles the side panelling does leave a reason gap from the floor allowing feet etc to easily be viewed by waiting others. The toilets were good for one flush thereafter forget it as it took an eternity to refill...no second chance!

Liked Had a fabulous week at Deer’s Glade. Friendly and helpful staff. Pitches are very spacious and private. The site was beautifully situated with all the usual amenities. Very clean and tidy. Definitely worth a visit

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch (deluxe)

Liked Plot and layout was practical and very well kept. Not too loud great facilities and food vans in communal centre with nice little goat pen and play area. Facilities local to the plot were very well kept and maintained nice and clean. Staff helpful on arrival with a lovely shop with lots to choose from and keep you going. Price very good for the quality of the overall plot kids loved it with nice local wooded areas on site for walks. We would definately use this again.

Liked Lovely friendly site. Clean. Toilets/showers very good. A very impressive shop. Lovely area, handy for several decent gastro-pubs near by. Easy reach of Norfolk coast, Cromer and Sheringham.
Very good size pitch. Goats!

Disliked Pitch so big my cable was too short to get from hardstanding to hookup! Reception closes at 5 if turn up late

Local attractions

It’s the coast that draws many visitors to north Norfolk – and you’ll be in a good position here to see plenty of its hotspots. Perhaps start in Cromer (10 minutes’ drive) for the beach and a bit of crabbing from the pier, have a quiet trip to Mundesley beach (20 minutes) or go seal-spotting from Blakeney (35 minutes). The Broads National Park is another popular spot, and it will take you about half an hour to get there for scenic walks and boat trips. If you’ve brought the kids, you may like to look at outings like BeWILDerwood Norfolk (half an hour) and ROARR! dinosaur park (35 minutes) – or perhaps a ride on either the Bure Valley Railway (10 minutes) or North Norfolk Railway (20 minutes). Those of you on more grownup breaks may instead like to turn your attention to the National Trust sites at Blickling Estate (10 minutes) and Felbrigg Hall, Gardens & Estate (15 minutes), or perhaps the royals’ favourite Sandringham Estate (an hour). Walks on Marriott's Way (10 minutes) and Weavers Way (20 minutes) are also options, as is a stroll around the historic centre of Norwich (35 minutes).
