General site overview

  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland in Northamptonshire
  • Half an hour's drive from Silverstone; Northampton 15 minutes
  • Fishing lakes, bars and restaurants
Activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is just a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is also a seasonal swimming pool on site. And speaking of the essentials, there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

Shelduck (area 1) electric grass touring pitch

Liked This is a lovely family friendly site. Good amenities. Lots for the kids. Clean site with good pitch space. Staff were all very friendly. Special mention to Sherrie for the brilliant alpaca feeding experience! Definitely would return.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your fantastic review!

We're absolutely delighted to hear you and your family had such a wonderful stay with us. It’s great to know you enjoyed the spacious pitches, clean facilities, friendly team, and, of course, all the fun on offer for the children.

A huge shout-out to Sherrie! We'll make sure your lovely comments are passed on to her. She'll be over the moon to know she made your alpaca feeding experience so memorable. Our alpacas certainly have plenty of personality (and they know it!), so we're glad Sherrie introduced you to all their quirky characters and made the experience feel so personal.

We can't wait to welcome you back for more family adventures, a few more alpaca selfies, and maybe a cheeky nibble or two from our four-legged friends! After all... it's in our nature.

Liked First time I’ve been to that site, really good site very friendly staff excellent facilities.

Disliked The only thing I would say the showers were a little hot other than that perfect definitely will come again.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your fantastic review!

We’re delighted to hear that your first visit with us was such a great one. It sounds like you discovered exactly what we love about the park friendly faces, great facilities, and plenty to enjoy during your stay.

We’ll be sure to pass your lovely comments on to the team. They’ll be chuffed to know they helped make your visit a memorable one.

As for the showers… we think they may have been a little too enthusiastic with the warm welcome! We’ll make sure we have a word and remind them they’re there to refresh guests, not recreate a tropical rainforest experience!

We’re so pleased you’d come back to see us again. We’ll have the kettle ready, the smiles waiting, and plenty more adventures for you to enjoy because it’s in our nature.

Shelduck (area 3) electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Loads to do for my children with different options for everyone.

Disliked The gravel pitch locations need better care. There was loads of dog poo around and the grass needed cutting.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.

We're delighted to hear that your children had such a fantastic time and that there were plenty of activities and entertainment options for everyone to enjoy. That's exactly what we love to hear!

We're sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the gravel pitch. While it may have appeared to be dog fouling, it's actually more likely to have been left by our wonderful wildlife, which is part of what makes Billing Aquadrome so special. Our resident geese and ducks do occasionally leave a little "confetti" around the park, especially near the lakes and open grassed areas!

We also appreciate your comments about the grass and will share your feedback with the park team.

Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to welcome you and your family back again soon for more fun-filled adventures because, at Meadow Bay, it's in our nature to enjoy and protect the beautiful wildlife that calls our park home while creating memorable holidays for everyone.

Lucy H. 1 review

Shelduck (area 2) electric grass touring pitch

Liked Near a river and lakes which is why we booked.

Disliked We left after 5 hours and returned home.
If you like butlins, loud groups or festival crowds you will be fine here, unfortunately that is not our type of holiday.
The pictures look amazing, plenty of space, green grass and trees, next to a river and lakes, with plenty of amenities.
What we saw was thousands of people squeezed into small areas, you could barely move, we asked another guest where the water points were and he agreed there were not enough, we also discussed the worry of even more people arriving to an already over booked venue. We didn't feel safe letting our son play around the tent as the people around us were so close, and the cars and vans driving around were so fast!
We wanted to leave the van and tent to have a walk around but felt very uneasy leaving things unlocked, we had paddle boards which we reluctantly left, we've never been to a campsite and felt so uneasy, it felt off and the characters there seemed to fit in. Safely when camping is key for us!
Perhaps the pitch up description of this place could be updated as many we spoke with did not expect this type of venue, its very much a loud, party type location. It is good for children if they are slightly older. The splash park was small and people sat around drinking.
A lady had said to us she had never been somewhere so busy and feared it would get worse on the Saturday as they open the doors to the public and play the football match live on the massive arena screen. This pretty much sealed the deal for us and we left.
On arrival we were told they are having issues with travellers not paying so they had to check our payment closer, there were many travellers there.
This place would be great for young parties, families with older children that can take themselves off safely and those not worried about loud crowds or drinking environments, the facilities were good and clean, the lake looked lovely and I'd imagine the place is nice if half of the people were not there, sometimes quality over quantity would benefit businesses.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback.

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed our lakes, riverside setting, and that you found our facilities to be clean and well maintained.

We're very sorry to learn that the atmosphere of the park wasn't what you were looking for. Billing Aquadrome is a lively, family holiday park with a wide range of entertainment, activities, and events, particularly during peak holiday periods and weekends. We appreciate that this style of holiday isn't for everyone, and we're sorry it didn't meet your expectations.

Reading your feedback, it also sounds like many of our holiday guests were enjoying everything the park has to offer. With so many activities, entertainment options, and facilities available, there's something for everyone, which is what makes Billing Aquadrome such a popular family holiday destination.

The safety of our guests is always our highest priority. We have a dedicated security team on park 24 hours a day, and our speed limits are clearly signposted and monitored to help keep everyone safe. We're sorry that you didn't feel as relaxed as we would have hoped during your stay.

We also appreciate your comments regarding how busy the park was during your visit. During school holidays and major events, the park can be much busier than at other times of the year, while quieter midweek breaks outside of peak periods often offer a very different experience.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we wish you all the very best with your future camping adventures. At Meadow Bay, it's in our nature to create fun-filled holidays for guests of all ages.

Liked There is a good size pool and plenty for kids to do. A circus was setting up during our stay and I understand this is a regular attraction during the summer.

Disliked Adult entertainment was limited and not all indoor attractions had adequate air conditioning.
