A aimé I don’t know what the bad reviews are about this site was brilliant it was busy but that is because it is big and it’s the summer holidays it wasn’t crowded and the site was quiet in the night as for the roads being busy they were not just kids on bikes and scooters which is good to see! The showers and toilets where absolutely fine it is camping not the ritz I don’t know why people moan about silly things, there was all kinds to do swimming boating activities alpacas circus all stuff for little kids and entertainment on in the evening the food in the restaurant was lovely and it was cheap nothing in the site was over priced I will be back again I drove 3 hours from Liverpool and honestly could not fault the place staff very helpful

It’s in our nature to keep the whole family entertained, so it’s great to hear you made the most of everything on offer from swimming and boating to alpacas, circus fun and the evening entertainment. It sounds like you certainly kept busy!

We also love your comment about it being camping and “not the Ritz” we might have to put that on a sign! We’re pleased the facilities were perfectly fine for you and that you found the park lively during the day but peaceful at night.

A three-hour drive from Liverpool is no small journey, so knowing you felt it was worth the trip really means a lot to the team. We’ll also pass your kind comments on to the staff they’ll be pleased to hear they helped make your stay enjoyable.

A aimé Not a regular camper, so I read a lot of reviews before we went and I was worried. I was pleasantly surprised.

Lots of information prior to arrival in the form of emails so knew what to bring and expect. Upon arrival, staff were very pleasant and friendly and directed us to our pitch.

When we got there, there was already someone camping in our space but we were assured we could just pick our own. This actually worked in our favour and we chose the one we wanted that suited us better.

Having read reviews before we left, I can agree the ground is hard but I don’t know
What people are expecting after the summer we have had. No complaints about the pitch. Nicely fenced and it is of a decent size.

Toilets were better than expected. Now people need to get real, It’s camping, They’re in constant use and not going to be as clean as your own bathroom. Toilets contain a shower which was warm. The water flows away a little slowly so if someone goes in with muddy shoes it will make the floor dirty but then it’s not hard to wash the floor. They are constantly being cleaned, I could not believe when I went for a last wee on the first night to see there was still attendant looking after them in the dark.

There is so much to do. If you have kids you will love it. The activities were easy to book and well run. Staff running the water activities were friendly and brilliant with the kids. It was difficult to get sessions in the swimming pool so be advised you need to book session as soon as you get the email.

N'a pas aimé Be aware this is a busy family campsite. There were lots of kids playing football and campers playing music. I did not mind this. People were really friendly and there was a good atmosphere. However, you may not enjoy if you’re an older couple without kids looking for a quiet site.

It’s in our nature to keep things as easy as possible for our guests, so it’s great to hear our pre-arrival information helped you know what to expect and that our team gave you a warm welcome when you arrived.

We particularly enjoyed the pitch story! Arriving to find someone else already in your space isn’t exactly the welcome we aim for, but we’re glad it turned into a happy accident and you ended up choosing a pitch you liked even better. Sometimes the holiday has other plans!

And thank you for your very realistic take on camping life. You’re absolutely right that the ground can be hard after a long, dry summer, and our touring facilities are certainly not designed to be the Ritz! We loved hearing that you noticed our cleaning teams working throughout the day and even spotted an attendant looking after the facilities late into the evening. We’ll make sure the team sees that working into the dark deserves a mention.

It sounds like you really made the most of the activities too. We’ll pass your lovely comments on to the water activities team, particularly your praise for how they looked after the children.

Your tip about swimming is a good one. Our pool sessions can get very popular during the school holidays, so booking as soon as sessions become available is definitely the best way to secure the times you want.

And yes… you’ve summed up the park perfectly: busy, family-focused and full of life! If someone is looking for a silent countryside retreat, we might not be the first choice. But if you want children playing, families enjoying themselves and plenty happening throughout the day, you’re definitely in the right place.

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxed next time, why not consider booking with us off-peak? Outside of the school holidays, park life naturally takes on a slower, quieter pace, while you can still enjoy many of the facilities and activities on offer.

Thank you again for giving us a chance despite those pre-holiday nerves. We’re delighted the reality was better than the reviews suggested and hopefully we’ve now converted you into a slightly more confident camper!

At Billing Aquadrome, it’s in our nature to listen to our guests and continually look for ways to improve, and your comments are important to us. Our teams work hard throughout the day to keep the park, toilets and shower facilities clean and presentable, although unfortunately some areas can be affected by guest behaviour and litter between cleaning checks.

We are actively looking at ways to improve these areas and ensure the park continues to look its best for everyone to enjoy.

There is an abundance of activities available across the park for children and families to enjoy, including
Swimming,

Park train,

Tribe Den, where a variety of activities take place throughout the day,
Summer Cyclone,
Circus and many more activities available throughout the park.

We appreciate that the park can feel particularly busy during peak periods. If you are looking for a slower and quieter pace, perhaps consider visiting us during our off-peak periods, when the park has a more relaxed atmosphere.

As a middle aged couple with no children this site was not for us .but severed its purpose as we was meeting family in Northampton

I’m sorry that your allocated pitch was already occupied when you arrived. I completely understand your frustration, as you had been given a specific pitch number and would reasonably expect that pitch to be available for you.

I appreciate that, as a middle-aged couple without children, you found the park very busy during the peak season. Our summer holidays are our busiest periods, with lots of families visiting to enjoy the entertainment, activities and facilities. If you prefer a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere, I would recommend visiting us outside of the peak season, when the park has a much slower pace and is generally less busy.

I’m glad the park served its purpose while you were visiting family in Northampton, and thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback.

A aimé The location is (or could be) amazing. The facilities for kids are brilliant.

N'a pas aimé Litter everywhere, river behind our pitch had got loads of plastic bottles and a discarded caravan water carrier in it. Saw a swan with fishing line in its mouth. The site don’t look after the waterways or the wildlife that are being impacted by its guests.
It’s chav central, caravans crammed in like a travellers site, loads of kids whizzing round on electric bikes/scooters/mini motorbikes/buggies FAST! (Site rules said they’re not allowed), loads of bbqs being used despite the site rules saying none allowed during hot weather. An abundance of signwritten work vans which people were sleeping in the back of, again, sure rules say they’re not allowed on site.
Showers smelt funny, weren’t clean and were cold on Saturday evening, I didn’t use them but my partner did and said a few dads in there were effing loudly at their kids to get showered.
It was a cross between the worst council estate and a travellers site. Witnessed a drunk guy throw a glass beer bottle off the decking at the pub, at a swan. Not sure if the pub is part of the site but from their loud conversation about ‘getting more Stella to drink outside their caravan’, I’m guessing they were off the site. Wanted to say something but he and his group of mates were tanked up so didn’t risk it. We were only there for one night and seriously contemplated leaving before bedtime but we’d had a drink so couldn’t. Literally got up next morning and drove away. Never ever to return…….

The site could be beautiful but we think is attracting the wrong clientele possibly due to there being absolutely no rules. Absolute free for all… great for people who don’t like rules that stop them negatively affecting other guests.

We take your comments regarding litter and our waterways seriously, particularly where wildlife may be affected. We want our lakes and surrounding areas to be enjoyed and looked after by everyone, and we will share these concerns with the relevant park teams.

In relation to e-bikes, scooters, mini motorbikes and buggies, we do have park rules in place and our teams will challenge guests when they see unsafe or inappropriate behaviour. We also have a zero-tolerance approach to antisocial behaviour. While we cannot be responsible for the individual actions of every guest, we do ask that concerns are reported to our teams so they have the opportunity to investigate and take appropriate action.

Our teams work hard to keep the toilet and shower blocks clean from early morning through to late into the evening. We do wish all our guests would respect and look after the facilities so they can be enjoyed by everyone.

I’m sorry that your visit did not reflect the family-friendly environment we want to provide. It’s in our nature to listen, learn and do better, and your feedback will be taken seriously as we continue working to improve the park and the experience for our guests.

N'a pas aimé The campsite advertises itself as having a pool, but using it is impossible. All time slots are fully booked, and you cannot book online. The pool staff are unfriendly and unable to help you use the pool you have already paid for.

N'a pas aimé If I’m honest we disliked most things about this site

Firstly - customer service. I contacted 2 days before we were due to arrive to ask about it a late check in. I was told there was no “reception” or anyone to speak to directly at the site, and that it “should be fine” - initially the lady on the phone said “can you not go and ask” - erm no, I’m no where near the site! Hence me calling.

We arrived late on Friday night. Around 9pm. When we pulled up check in was easy, we were told our pitch number and given basic directions around.

As soon as we drove through the gates I said to my husband “I’d rather stay the night in a lay-by” it was unbelievably busy and all seemed a bit lawless. I’ve always found when camping there seems to be a lot of mutual respect for each-others, space environment belongings and so on. Instead this was the opposite.

Children speeding along the paths on e scooters and bikes, no helmets on, an overwhelming smell of cannabis, people playing music loudly. Litter everywhere.

When we pulled up to our pitch we noticed someone had already pitched there.

We ended up driving our camper back round to the entrance and were told we could “just pitch anywhere” so we ended up driving until we found a slightly quieter spot.

However it still wasn’t particularly quiet. By 11pm there was still shouting, children playing loudly, music playing, dogs barking. Really little respect for other people.

Fortunately we were only booked for 1 night and were using it as a stop over. We ended up setting our alarm for 6am and hit the road sharpish. I truly would not ever return.

I imagine if you are a family with children this place probably has plenty on offer as it looked like there were lots of activities to offer. However if you’re looking for an actual camping experience this isn’t it. This is a holiday park.

And a side note - I didn’t use the showers as wasn’t brave enough my husband said they were dirty and not the level of hygiene you should be getting.

From your review, it sounds like you were hoping for a traditional, quiet camping experience, whereas Billing Aquadrome is much more of a lively family holiday park, particularly during the summer holidays. As you quite rightly said, there is plenty going on, and we appreciate that this won’t suit everyone.

Regarding the e-scooters, we do have a no e-scooter policy on the park. We have noticed an increase in e-scooters being brought onto the park and are therefore implementing further measures and tighter rules around their use. Guest safety is extremely important to us, and our teams will continue to challenge guests where our rules are not being followed.

We also have park rules covering noise, litter and dogs, and our teams will challenge behaviour that impacts on other guests. We appreciate that during busy periods the park can be lively, but we still expect everyone to respect those around them.

I’m sorry that you arrived to find another guest already occupying your pitch. Our touring pitch allocations are not guaranteed, and our touring team can assist where an alternative pitch is required.

Our toilet and shower facilities are cleaned and maintained throughout the day, with our park teams working from early morning through to late at night to keep them clean and presentable. During particularly busy periods, however, they can unfortunately become untidy quickly due to the high number of guests using them.

Perhaps if you ever fancy giving us another go, an off-peak visit might be more your cup of tea a slower pace, fewer people and hopefully a little more peace and quiet!

N'a pas aimé Free for all on pitch allocation, they give you a pitch to them be challenged by others wherever you go. Very unnerving when a man shouts at you for being in their pitch 2 different occasions.
People smoking weed everywhere
Evokes & e-scooters nearly crashing into you everywhere you go.
People just wanting to fight and argue and everything, security do nothing.
Toilets dirty and no hand soap the whole weekend.
Kids screaming music playing until way past midnight. People having fires even after the government warning. Pot washing sinks absolutely disgusting 🤮

It’s in our nature to want our guests to feel comfortable, safe and able to enjoy their time with us, so I can appreciate why some of the experiences you described left you feeling frustrated, particularly being challenged by other guests over pitches.

We are already looking at improving our touring arrival process to make it clearer and smoother for everyone. We recognise that arriving for your holiday should be straightforward, without uncertainty over where you should be pitched.

The concerns you raised about antisocial behaviour, e-scooters, smoking, noise and fires are also taken seriously. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards unacceptable behaviour, and when these issues are witnessed or reported, our security and park teams will challenge them. We have also introduced further rules and measures around e-scooters and similar vehicles to help improve the safety of our guests and reduce the risk of accidents on park. Your comments are helpful in highlighting where we need to remain vigilant.

I also understand your frustration regarding the toilet, shower and pot-washing facilities. Our cleaning teams work from early morning through to late at night, cleaning, checking and replenishing these areas throughout the day. We do rely on our guests to treat the facilities with respect and leave them in a condition that others can use them comfortably.

There are clearly areas from your stay where we need to do better, and your feedback gives us useful points to take back to the teams.
