Touring and camping

  • Family park 10 minutes' drive from Skegness
  • Kids' club, fishing lakes, golf course and evening entertainment
  • Bar, restaurant, pool, sauna and modern amenities
Wahey, it's Skeggy! If you too are somewhat fond of Lincolnshire's seaside capital Skegness, how sensible would it be to stay within a couple of miles of it – and on a family holiday park with loads to do, thoroughly modern facilities and a club to send the kids off to during the day? Very sensible, that's how much. Pack the kids off to make friends and stay busy with the Starland Krew while you make the most of the facilities for grownups: two fishing lakes, a nine-hole golf course, indoor pool, sauna and spa pool… You might also rather fancy a wander around the acres of landscaped parkland, perhaps hiding with a book until kids' club is over? Southview Leisure Park has lots of entertainment including cabaret, shows and tribute acts in the evening at the Lakeside Showbar; if you're still hankering after a quieter vibe, sail into the Boathouse bar and restaurant for a cocktail or a meal, or pick up a classic seaside dinner at the fish and chip shop.

What customers say

This is a large, family-friendly holiday park with plenty of activities and food options on-site, making it a convenient base. Many visitors praised the spacious pitches, friendly staff, and the range of entertainment for children. However, a significant number of reviews highlighted cleanliness issues, particularly in the toilet and shower blocks, with frequent reports of them being dirty, outdated, and lacking supplies. Some also noted high prices for food and drinks.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (large)

Liked The campsite itself is relatively close to most things
- circus was just across the road
- scoops was fairly priced
- the delivery service was good and the pizza was really nice
- the pottery painting was a nice activity and not extortionate either

Disliked Where do I start?
- Toilets - an absolute health hazard, either the toilets didn’t flush, were blocked, had no toilet roll, had no lid on the sanitary towel bin or were down right filthy and the floors were always wet and slippy
-showers - lethal, I honestly dreaded using these, clumps of hair on the floor for days, cold water, rubbish everywhere, the walls are reflecting tiles so you can see into the cubicle next to you and visa versa, I can’t say I ever felt clean after using these
- entertainment - fair enough the act was okay but you had to beg barter and steal to get a table, and then half the drinks were out of stock. Staff were walking around the tables shoving bin bags in your face, let’s just say it’s an experience
- we only had about half an hour in the pool if that before we were told we had to get out, and it was cold, with kids literally throwing each other about
- none of our pitches were private, we had kids literally walking behind our caravan and cats walking about winding our dogs up
- the water waste and toilet waste was absolutely shocking, with clumps of toilet roll and poo on the floor
- you have to pay for the WiFi, on a daily rate, so if you can bring your own I would
- in all honesty I would avoid this site like the plague, if you book through pitch up you can only book activities through the swimming pool or hub as the app doesn’t work for you and you can tell that the tourers are an after thought, you’d be better off booking a smaller site and paying a little more for the activities out and about

Liked The restaurant was nice and the pool was good

Disliked The amount of rats was horrific running under the cars and caravans. We saw 6 in the space of an hour... and the loads over the following days. A group of irish travellers showed up which was absolutely fine. The kids were just bikeing about no harm.. then they were up screaming and shouting til 4. 30 am. Had a poo right outside their caravan. And then their children started hitting my kid and another visitors kid. My sons scooter was stolen from our awning (unrelated as we dont know who took it). Then there was also poo smeared all over the womens toilet block some of the toilets were broken. There was poo all in the drinking water area.

Liked Nothing

Disliked When we arrived the pitch had allsorts of rubbish on it the ground was so hard it took us ages to peg the awning down,
There is only one shower block for all the touring part and they didn't get cleaned for 2 days they was no toilet paper for 2 days imhad to go to reception and ask them to come and clean them which they did but nit very well and after that they was only cleaned once a day
We booked to go into the escape room and someone came in and told us there was a fire at the back of us, when I asked the staff why the fire alarm didn't go off his reply was we don't have any we only have a bell which the staff forgot to ring it by this time the fire was well on its way, they told us that the wifi was free but we couldn't get on and we couldn't even get on with 5g

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (large)

Liked The site was amazing and really big with lots of activities and food on site from a chip shop to a food stall called Thunderbird that served chicken as well as show bar.
They were also a lot of outdoor activities like high ropes, archery, climbing walls for kids as well as many more they had bike you could hire and also a fishing pond the site was brilliant for the price if u just wanna get away without leaving the site

Disliked When we got there we were told where our pitch was not where the water and waste was not to mention the shower blocks.

During one of the nights there were kids throwing big draft pieces from one of the big games to they have near the outside of the swimming pool building which sounded like it was next door but it eventually stopped.

And also the shower blocks had looked like it had not been cleaned for a bit, they had a bath in there but on the ceiling above looks like it had mould and could do with a tidy up the floor near the showers needed a clean but a positive was the showers were powerfull

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (no awning)

Liked Good solid base, water connection and electric, both wired without a hitch. Clubhouse was ok.

Disliked Washing block was terrible, dirty, poorly maintained. Looks like it was built in the 80’s.
Drink prices are through the roof, as this is a captive customer, they should be more reasonable

Local attractions

It's but a 10-minute drive to the sands of Skeggy from Southview Leisure Park for seaside days out on its beach, along its pier and whooping among the rides of Skegness Pleasure Beach. If you're new to dipping a wetsuit-clad toe in the water, have a waterskiiing or kitesurfing lesson at Skegness Water Leisure Park. At Skeggy you'll also find Natureland Seal Sanctuary, and the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve to the resort's south, one of the best places on the Lincolnshire coast to see gulls, waders and wildfowl. (If it's seals you want to see, go north to the Donna Nook National Nature Reserve between Grainthorpe Haven in the north and Saltfleet.) Four miles from Skegness is Ingoldmells, another Lincolnshire seaside town that's a hit with families, mainly because of its theme park Fantasy Island where record breakers can try Europe’s longest looping rollercoaster and the world’s longest suspended rollercoaster or, more calmly, browse the massive indoor market, open seven days a week. Driving north from Skegness leads to other fun family resorts like Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe, also topping for days out, or go inland for the Lincolnshire Wolds and food/antiques/gift shopping at Lincolnshire's market towns like Alford, Horncastle and Louth.
