Hide Away electric optional grass tent pitch (secluded)
Liked I stayed for one night at Spring Fields Dark Skies Eco Camp and had such a peaceful, memorable experience. The owner met me at the gate on arrival and personally showed me around, which was a lovely touch. As there was only one other camper there, I was even able to choose my own spot, making it feel really special and private.
The facilities were excellent — the toilets and showers were clean, well stocked, and had a great lighting and locking system that made everything feel safe and comfortable, even after dark.
The views across the Shropshire Hills are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. It was the perfect setting to unwind. I spent the evening sitting by the fire pit, watching the sky fade into darkness and then fill with stars — exactly what you’d hope for from a dark skies campsite.
I also appreciated the little charging pod for phones, which is a thoughtful addition, and the no-vehicles policy on site after unloading really adds to the calm, natural atmosphere.
Overall, a beautifully quiet and well-run eco camp — I’d definitely stay again.
Disliked The ladybirds in the shower.

From the manager: We are pleased that you felt safe at our campsite. We are always aware that sometimes, people like solitude or peace from the busy world and we aim to offer just that. A nod in our direction and we will always accommodate space. Sorry about the ladybirds but we do seem to be having a glut of them. I try to free as many as possible but a few are really stubborn. We hope to see you again

Wrekin View electric gravel motorhome pitch
Liked I had such a fantastic stay at Wrekin View Retreat Campsite! From the moment i arrived, the setting was absolutely beautiful – the views are simply stunning and really make the whole place feel peaceful and special. Waking up to that scenery in the morning was a real highlight.
After meeting me at the gate, Kate showed me to the riverside pitch, which was perfect. Falling asleep to the sound of the water and sitting by the river in the evening with my fire pit was incredibly relaxing. It felt like a proper escape from the busy world.
One of the most memorable touches has to be the quirky shower set inside a converted stable – such a unique and charming feature! It’s little details like this that make the campsite stand out and give it so much character.
The whole place has a lovely atmosphere and you can tell a lot of care has gone into creating it. Id definitely recommend Wrekin View Retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing views and a bit of countryside charm. I will absolutely be back next time with my older teenager as she adores the photos I sent her.

Camping pod (comfort, pet friendly, twin)
Liked I Had been sent an offer on email to stay here so gave it a go whilst I had a free weekend and I’m so glad I did, what a wonderful place. It’s clean and well maintained grounds. The toilet block is superb, hot showers and warm bathrooms, kept clean by a friendly lady. We stayed in a camping pod which was cozy, warm and had everything we needed for the weekend, bedding, cups, plates and cutlery all provided with a view of one of the lakes. Dog friendly too with nice walks around the lakes. The bar looked inviting although we didn’t stay to eat/drink, polite lads working there provided me with my key and check in information. Good phone signal for the teenager. We visited Lincoln for one day and Anderby Creek beach the next, both stunning locations.
Disliked Only one thing to mention was the pod when we checked in had a very nasty strong smell of cigarette smoke which was unpleasant. I mentioned it to reception the next morning.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely quiet small site, firepits allowed, clean toilets, views of the roaches and surrounding hills. Huge pitches , numbered well, very happy with plot 8 and horses and sheep right in front of us. Thankyou to the owners for letting us book another night. Oh and good phone signal for the teen. Farm shop up the road, easily walkable and about an hour walk to the roaches
Disliked Nothing to dislike , maybe slight road noise may bother some

Non-electric grass and earth tent or motorhome pitch
Liked What a stunning campsite, it was perfect in every way possible. Pitch 2 was plenty big enough and close to lovely clean toilet block. There were 4 toilets and 2 showers all unisex. Showers were nice and hot . There was WiFi for the teenager so that kept her happy in the evenings. We Did get phone signal here too. Beautiful views of the mountains in every direction. The owners come and greet you on their quad bike and tell you all the relevant information and they are contactable very easily. We will definitely be back. We heard an owl and saw deer and donkeys so good wildlife haven too.
Disliked Nothing with regards to the campsite. But The arrival of a large group of youngsters on our second night, lots of swearing and shouting until very late hours and then taking up all the bathrooms at the same time in the morning.

Non-electric gravel touring pitch
Liked Lovely quiet site with views of the Malvern hills which is why I booked to stay here, a hiking weekend to discover the hills around here. Adults only and there was only one other camper onsite. Lovely to see the horses around the arena and stables. Very good instructions received with regards to checking in etc. Nice drive through the common with the roaming free cows. Good sized pitches and plant of space in between. I only stayed for one night but would have stayed longer enjoying the countryside. WiFi worked fantastically from pitch number 7.
Disliked I couldn’t get the shower to run hot, it was freezing. Not a dislike as such but only one bathroom for a full camp site might be a problem. Wasn’t for me as there was only me using it.

Liked 10/10 this was our best camping experience so far. Really well looked after field. We had the whole place to ourselves. The facilities were spotless, there is an honestly shed that’s very well stocked. Football goal, walks from the field. Excellent views too.
Disliked Barking dogs from very early morning and very often. Not sure where they were located though.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. It’s nice to hear positive comments as we have worked hard to make it the best we can. The site is still quiet as we have relocated the camping to a new field, but we already have returning guests. We do know the dogs you are referring to as they are a neighbours and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it, I wish there was!!!! Hope you return soon.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small, two person)
Liked Pleasant small friendly site. Upon arrival our pitch was allocated on a chalk board which was easy to find. I was extremely impressed with the placement. Couldn’t have asked for a better pitch next to the pond. The owner came to chat and showed me around the site. Toilet block was immaculate every time and never had to wait to use it, good hot showers. The wood fired pizza was delicious and delivered to our pitch. We watched the sunset which made some fabulous pictures. Overall peaceful atmosphere. Noise kept to a minimum just what we wanted.
Disliked Nothing from me but my teenage daughter was moaning about the intermittent wifi.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked We stayed one night at Belvoir Waters and were met by the owner at the gate. He asked what we were looking for so we told him forest so that we could hang our hammocks. We got taken off roading in our van lol through the forest onto lake number 2 to the most perfect pitch, lake side and plenty of trees for us to use. There was a flat part to pitch the tent. Nice and peaceful and well away from any other campers. We fished (caught perch, pike and carp), walked, chilled out and watched the sunset. Definitely what we had hoped with it being wild camping. Remember to take your own water and binoculars for the many birds around the lake. Would highly recommend to anyone to stay.
Disliked Nothing to dislike as such but a toilet on lake 2 would have been handy as there were only one on each of lakes 1 and 3 which was quite a walk if it was dark.

Liked This was our first time camping. Me, my 12 year old daughter and dog absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Etties Field. Everything about the site was top notch, great sizes pitch, toilets well spaced out top and bottom of field, immaculately clean and well stocked. Not your average toilet, really pretty bathrooms. We loved the quiet relaxing clubhouse in particular the hammocks. The shop we visited 3 times as there was so much to browse, I’ve never seen anything so good. The owners were very friendly and chatty, on hand if needed. We kept warm with our chimnea on the pitch. We visited during the meadow man event to open the peacock field which again was amazing. My daughter has asked if every time we go camping again can it be at Etties. Fabulous but I think I’ve set the bar too high by making this our first camp, I doubt it can be beaten. You will love it.
Disliked That we had to come home.
