A well kept site with very friendly owners

Aug 2026

Liked The site is well kept, pitches are reasonably flat and the owners are really friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. The farm shop has lots of goodies, some fresh from the farm and others from local producers. We found a BBQ area with seating on the last day, so we didn’t get chance to use it. There is a laundry facility, that we did use and it all worked well. The site is a 15 minute drive to the beautiful seaside town of North Berwick and Edinburgh is around 45 minute drive.

Disliked The only small negative was train and microlight noise. There is a railway at the bottom of the field and a nearby airfield. There are trains regularly through the day from early morning to late at night, as it is the East Coast mainline. If you are a light sleeper, like me, take ear plugs. We had lovely weather of the Saturday and Sunday of our stay and there were microlights flying pretty much all day. It wouldn’t put us off staying again.

Brilliant, quiet site.

Apr 2026

Liked The site is located in a quiet village, 15 minute drive from Carlisle city centre. We have use of a car, however, I did notice that there is a bus service to the city as well, not sure on frequency though. Access to the site is good, they are B roads, but are wide and in a reasonable state of repair. The pitches are spacious, well maintained and fabulously flat! Having the pub close by is a bonus, the food and drink are reasonably priced. The pub has limited opening times, but that wasn’t a problem for us. The staff and owner are really friendly and made us very welcome. The pub is popular with locals and busy for food, so best to book a table. We will return to this little gem of a site!

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and feedback back. There is a gray water disposal point to the left of the chemical toilet disposal point with a hose! completely separate to the water point.

The location is good. The onsite…

Dec 2025

Liked The location is good. The onsite restaurant is nice. The grounds are well looked after.

Disliked The pitches are far from flat, we couldn’t adjust the van enough to get it level. The showers are electric and whatever you do, a trickle is the best you will get. They are luke warm at best and the shower block was not very warm (we went over New Year). The showers weren’t cleaned regularly during our stay. The light in the shed where you empty the chemical waste ran off solar power, so in the middle of winter, the light doesn’t come on making emptying of the toilet tank a challenge. A group of people had booked at the same time, they put up a marquee between their caravans and held a New Year’s Eve party in it, there was a lot of noise, we wanted a quiet New Year. We aren’t sure if the management knew about it or not. The heavy vehicles for the stables drives through the caravan park from 8am onwards. There is no security on the site, lots of cars just coming in and turning round. I emailed about these issues, it was forwarded to the management team and 4 days later, I still haven’t had a reply. It really feels that the RV and caravan part of the estate is just an inconvenience to the management team and they don’t really care.

Liked The site is small and very welcoming. The owners are really friendly and happy to help. Lovely clean site, facilities are spotless. It is dark at night, so if you need to use the facilities, you may want a torch. There was very little road noise. Overall a lovely weekend get away.

Jul 2025

Liked We stayed here because it is close to family we had come to visit. The site was clean and well kept. It was really busy, but still very quiet at night. Check in was quick and easy and the man on reception was helpful. Lots of CCTV around the site for security. Good 4G signal at the site.

Disliked The road around the site could do with some repairs, the security gate was broken.

This could be a lovely peaceful site with a little TLC.

May 2025

Liked This is a lovely quiet location, no traffic noise and not far from a busy town with supermarkets and everything you could need. This site is off the beaten track and satnav will not get you there, but the owner sends good instructions. There is a 4g signal for phones. The owner communicated well before our visit.

Disliked The grass was in need of cutting, the pitches are covered in weeds and the edges are hard to locate. The gate is very close to the road, luckily only a quiet road, but not great having to block the road whilst you have to open the gate and close when leaving (especially when towing). Even with the instructions, it was hard to locate the site, the sign is on the gate and is easy to miss.

From the manager: Thank you. Love all the good points. Its been so busy my gardener has not been able to get in ( imagine the furroar if he was using weedkillwr on peoples pitches with animsls and children BBQ ing etc) or disturbing the tranquility with his ride on mower!! We need a day when empty as a bit longer grass and a few weeds is a small prive to pay for its unique peaceful atmosphere. However we hope to get a day this week and have back to its usual immaculate standard. BTW the electricity is an extra, not included in pitch- i didnt raise it but its what everyone else does …

Apr 2025

Liked Really quite site in a good location. Shower and toilet facilities were spotless and modern. The site is very dark, which didn’t bother us, but you may need to take a good torch if you’re using the facilities at night. Everything is organised remotely, which meant we didn’t get to meet the owners. However, our neighbours had an issue with their car, the owners responded quickly to help out.

From the manager: We are so glad that you had a peaceful stay. Unfortunately due my father who was the owner of the site passing away last month, we have been short staffed - therefore visiting the site only a couple of times during the day, we are sorry our staff missed to see you. 🙁

Lovely new site with fabulous facilities.

Apr 2024

Liked This is a new site, it is small and has obviously had a lot of money invested into it. The facilities are probably the best we’ve ever seen. Gorgeous showers with plenty of hot water. There is a great pub a 10 minute walk away, but take a torch for walking back, there is no lighting on the main road. The owners are lovely and very friendly.

Disliked The WiFi was hit and miss when we were there, but there had been a problem with it. There is no phone signal. There is a lot of environmental noise, the site is located next to an aggregate yard, a busy main road and a railway line. I would recommend ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Lovely, quiet site.

Jan 2024

Liked Lovely, clean site and facilities. Close to the A55, but very little noise. The pitches are very well maintained and the lady who greeted us was lovely.

Disliked We went to the site in January. The facilities are really clean, but oh boy were they cold! The ladies had the window jammed open, no heating on and a heavy frost outside. Good job the showers were good and hot. If it wasn’t for this it would have been a 5 star review. If a site is open all year round, then please heat the shower room. No Wi-Fi on the site, but we did get 4g on our phones, so good enough for what we wanted.

Well maintained site with large pitch…

Dec 2023

Liked Well maintained site with large pitch area. The hotel in front has a lovely spa, but a bit pricey at the weekend. The food there was ok, but definitely not worth the extortionate bill we had. We saw maintenance being carried out, but no other staff, they email you everything you need, but no personal touch.

Disliked Lots of road noise which we had anticipated, if you are a light sleeper, you will need earplugs. There was noise because of Christmas parties, the Friday night was fine, but on Saturday, I could clearly hear the singer with my earplugs in. So much for the 10pm noise rule! The security barrier was never down, anybody could drive on or off the site. 3 out of 5 showers in the ladies weren’t in use. The 2 that were need some TLC - flooring lifting, hair in the drain. We won’t be returning.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you won't be returning to our park Currently, we have no wardens on site during the winter season. The office is only manned on weekdays, so we do try to get everything to you before your stay. We know it isn't the same as having someone there to greet you, but this isn't always the case. I will pass on your comments to the White House - they are a separate business to us. Their cut off time for parties is midnight. We are aware of the issues with the barrier. The company has ordered parts to repair it, however it can either be stuck in the open position or the closed position. As we have a lot of bookings and seasonals coming on and off the park, we thought it best to keep the park open. Due to it being the winter season, and therefore a lot quieter than summer, we have closed some of the showers off. Our cleaners are cleaning what needs to be cleaned, and not every shower just in case it has been used. We are aware of the issues with the floor, and are looking at a solution. Thank you, Elizabeth

Liked A wonderful, very well kept site. The toilet facilities are spotless with good warm showers. The site is remote, but this means it is really quiet at night. There is a lovely bar on site and a little shop. The owners were friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this site.

Disliked Wi-Fi was not good, but they are in process of sorting this out.

A good site in a great location, perfect for exploring Western Cumbria

Dec 2022

Liked The location is lovely and quiet with good size pitches. It is a small, friendly site. There is a lovely pub very close by that does very good food. The facilities were clean and there was everything we needed.

Disliked The pitch we were on was very dark at night, the pitches in the circle were better lit. The shower block was meant to be heated, it was ok, (by ok I mean you could stand on the floor without fear of frostbite) for the 1st 3 days, but then on our 4th day it was chilly and by the 5th day it was freezing cold. It’s a good job the shower itself was warm.

Disliked The shower block is basic and not heated.
