  • Family tourer site five minutes’ drive from the M8 in Renfrewshire
  • Half an hours’ drive to central Glasgow; 25 minutes to Loch Lomond
  • Award-winning restaurant and cocktail bar; horse riding
With horse riding available and an award-winning restaurant and bar to boot, you’ll never be short of something to do at family-friendly The Paddocks Touring Park in Renfrewshire. Easily accessed from the main M8 motorway, this is a handy overnighting spot on the way to the scenic west coast of Scotland, or if you’re keen to spend a few days exploring the local area, central Glasgow is half an hour’s drive. Hardstanding pitches have stunning views over hilly countryside around Bishopton, and each comes with electric hook-up, a water supply and waste drainage. If you are self-catering, you’ll find most of what you need at the small supermarket in Bishopton (five minutes’ drive). Alternatively, Palomino’s bar (stay over on a Saturday night for live music) and restaurant is open from breakfast to dinner, and there’s a food and drinks delivery service available between 12pm and 8pm. Most flowers, vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant are grown on site in polytunnels, and honey is produced in the beehives – guests are welcome to purchase some to take home. The practicalities: convenient facilities include modern showers, a laundry (additional cost), washing-up sinks and electric vehicle charging points. With 24-hour security, you’ll know that all your stuff is safe and sound on site. Two dogs are welcome per pitch, but please ensure they remain on the lead at the pitches. For horse riding, book in advance to avoid disappointment.

What customers say

This is a beautifully maintained, clean and well-equipped site. Guests praise the spacious, level pitches with individual water taps and picnic tables. The toilet and shower facilities are frequently described as immaculate, modern, and hotel-standard, with some mentioning music playing. The on-site restaurant, Palominos, is also highly rated for its food and atmosphere. Staff are consistently noted as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, with John the groundsman receiving special mentions. The equestrian setting with horses is a popular feature. While the site is generally quiet and peaceful, some guests reported noise from functions or early morning work traffic. A few minor issues with shower water pressure, hot water availability, and the need for more toilet cubicles were mentioned. The convenience for travel to Glasgow and as a stopover point is also a key positive.

Liked Pitches were good as well as location, when you can actually find it - sat nav failed to.
Staff, particularly, Gary, were helpful.

Disliked A toilet ran out of paper, there is only 1 sink for washing dishes, meaning that there were ques, even although the site was not full.
