What customers say
This is a highly recommended site, praised for its stunning woodland and riverside locations offering a "wild camping" feel with good facilities. Guests highlight friendly and helpful staff, beautiful natural surroundings, and excellent amenities like clean showers and wood-fired pizzas. While some found the facilities slightly a distance from pitches and occasionally busy, most found the peace and seclusion highly rewarding, with many planning repeat visits.

Can’t be beaten for a wild camping experience
Oak Woodland non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Amazing! Fantastic location and the staff were even better, couldn’t have asked for more. Beautiful and well set out with the feel of true wild camping whilst having the support of incredible locals. We swam in the river each night and loved seeing the animals each morning.

I personally felt that the site was overpriced for what it is.

I'm telling everyone to camp here on their next trip!
Oak Woodland non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked I felt like I was a hobbit living in the shire for entire long weekend here. The location is incredible, the woodland pitches really capture the fun of camping in the ways that an open grass field never has for me. The communal areas, food, and friendliness of everyone there (both staff and campers) just made this one of my favourite places in the world.
Disliked 1. The electricity did give out at one point, which meant the communal facilities were a bit improvised. I know this is bad luck, but on a hot day or after a long hike, this could've been a bit brutal.
2. The pizzas and drinks were London prices which was a bit of a surprise. I've paid less at music festivals for food and drink. Though it was _delicious_.
3. The showers, toilets, and sink for cleaning is all one narrow hallway, so it can get very busy in there.

Great location but improvements in facilities needed
Oak Woodland non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked Secluded woodland pitches, great location, lots of wildlife nearby
Bar and pizza were a nice addition
Staff were friendly and helpful
Disliked Only 3 showers and 4 toilets for the whole site - had to queue to use these. Some of the toilet door locks were very stiff - thought I was going to get stuck in them a few times.
The shop/check-in felt understaffed at times but this could be due to it being a busy weekend.
Parking for the woodland pitches was over crowded and not clearly marked, making parking difficult at busy times.
Some of the woodland pitches were difficult to access (eg steep slopes, uneven paths) - something to consider if you have access issues.
