Lizard Point Holiday Park: Crazy golf

General

  • On the Lizard Peninsula with a huge range of family facilities
  • Indoor and outdoor heated pools; pirate-themed crazy golf; soft play
  • Activities including evening entertainment, family films, kids' clubs

Smugglers’ coves, gorgeous beaches, fishing ports and colourful market towns await you at this park on the Lizard Peninsula.

Lizard Point Holiday Park (formerly known as Mullion Holiday Park) is a firmly family-friendly site, so there's a great selection of facilities, including heated outdoor (open from May to mid-September) and indoor pools (where visitors can also book in for PADI diving lessons), a plethora of sporting activities, modern bars and restaurants, and all-singing, all-dancing action in the entertainment club.

The littlies will have a ball in the pools (and slides, chutes and tunnels) of the Crazy Caves soft play area, and the pirate-themed crazy golf course and outdoor adventure playground should provide gallons of giggles too.

A kids' library, family film screenings and the assortment of goings on at the various kids’ clubs means there’s plenty to keep them occupied whatever the weather (although the Lizard is the most southerly point in the UK, so if it’s going to turn out nice anywhere, it should be here).

The young lad in the food bar (outside) asked 5 times about our food order and still got it wrong!
The toilets/shower block on the Croft area was a absolute disgrace. So may campers complained and we all got the same reply no one was a designated cleaner for that area.
Toilets was closed off for two days due to maintenance work which was planned but no one was informed out of the 11 adults we was with.

Allocated near family, so easy access to facilities. Camping pitches nice and flat and small

    Disliked:

Toilets a mess most days not cleaned, had to take own toilet roll with you. Also not informed two days that there would be no water, 13 in out group and not one of us contacted to advise or any notices put up on the shower block to advise this.
Chippy food was ok but slow service. Toilets in Boathouse bar also dirty and not cleaned. Poor cleaniless for camping area.
Washing up sinks left with food in them, not cleaned at all
Tried the street food bar - food was nice.
Good value for money on the pitches for the week.

If there was anything I could say I liked it would be the bar food, we had a meal one night and it was enjoyable

    Disliked:

Well, I just wish I had taken photos.
The shower block was filthy and cleaned out by using a hose to hose the showers and the toilets down, which if there were any germs they would have been sprayed all over the place. This meant that the toilet seat was soaking.
The shower trays were brocken and chipped.
We couldn't get on to our pitch that was booked as another person was in it and we're put in the Meadow, it was a very long distance from the toilet block as the toilets in the Meadows were closed.
The staff were very helpful but few and far between as they were short staffed.
The water was no water in the Meadows so we had to unhook everything when we needed to drive to get water.
The recycling was non existent and often strewn with rubbish.
The Meadows was used as a dog exercise field with many dogs off the lead and used as a toilet for them.

They have not notified me about my pitch number and I had arrived after the hours so occupied available. Next morning they didn't allow us to stay there and force to move to another pitch. Eventually nobody has arrived to the first pitch so our relocation with tent and all belongings was waste of time.
Half of toilets were out of order.

It’s a shame Lizard point didn’t care for tourers as much as they did their static caravan guest. No one available to show you were you were staying. Find yourself. Showers toilets disgusting. Worse camp sites I’ve stayed on for toilet facilities.

They don't care for the disabled 1 bit as i have mobility problems and asked if we could move our tent closer to the toilets but was told NO !!!!!!
The family camping next to us must have thought it was ok to scream, shout and let there kids play about at between 12 and 1 but this was 12 to 1am , we was supposed to stay till Saturday but we had enough and left for home on the Thursday, when i went to the toilets we had to take our own toilet paper as the toilets were not being looked after.

Local attractions

The scenery around the park is stunning – not for nothing has the Lizard been given an official stamp as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – which makes for some spectacular clifftop walks. It's not far from Land's End or the rather lovely St Michael’s Mount either.

The local Blue Flag beaches offer a good range of watersports, including kitesurfing and sea kayaking. Serious thrill seekers should check out the adventure centre at Lusty Glaze beach, where they can test their mettle with water, land and cliff activities.

Many of Cornwall’s top family attractions are found nearby: potter among the plant life under the giant domes of the Eden Project, or head to Newquay Zoo or the National Seal Sanctuary in the Helford Estuary for some close encounters of the animal kind. There are a couple of good theme parks, too: the Flambards Experience and the Crealy Great Adventure Park.

If you’d like to uncover a bit more of the heritage of this Cornish corner, pay a visit to Poldark, an 18th-century tin mine, or the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.

Must see
