Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked very welcoming on arrival. showers and toilets were kept imaculate. nice level pitches with electric . peaceful. nice woods for walking the dog.

From the manager: Another 10/10 Whooooooo! Thank you Beverly!

We have looked into and trialed the possibility of a small shop/deliveries from the local shop but unfortunately it hasn't worked out as 95% of our customers bring their own goodies with them an so it was't needed. We do hope that this did not spoil your stay. There are all the normal supermarkets within a couple of miles radius of the park and Just Eat and Deliveroo will deliver both take aways and groceries.

See you again!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Took my dog to this lovely little campsite with good amenities. Lady who spoke to us at reception felt very welcoming and nice.We had the non electric tent area to ourselves so it was spacious but imagine it couldnt fit more then 3 or 4 pitches without feeling cramped. WiFi and data was decent. Showers and toilets were clean and had good hot water. Appreciated the drinking water wells placed around the site too. We enjoyed the little walk out back and it was also easy to access white horse woods via car. Everyone there was respectful and quiet so it was peaceful.

Disliked The non electric tent area (cant comment on the other areas) was a bit muddy as if it'd been all dug recently. Easy for us to handle but just a heads up.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you very much for taking the time to write us such a detailed review Lauren. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and found plenty to like.

Regarding the mud on the non electric tent area, you will find that at the end of the winter when it's rained solidly for 6 months, there will be a bit of mud. We would also like to point out that it has not recently been dug but we do have mole hills on a small area on that part of the park. You had the whole of the non electric area to yourself and the choice to pitch where ever you wanted to and may we suggest that booking in the summer when we've dried out may be a better option for you. This time of the year all campsite tent areas will be muddy.

The drains in the showers are checked daily and we do our very best to keep the toilets and showers nice for you all.

We wish you happy travels. The Oak View Team.

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Great site, friendly staff and facilities were really clean.

Disliked Nothing for the kids, there could of been a play area of some kind, and also there could of been a mini shop on site for your bread and milk ect, unfortunately no shop.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review James. We are glad that there were some things that you liked, the facilities and us. 😊

We are sorry that you didn't like the fact that there is no play area or shop. We are always available to give advice on what is in the local area, and there is a shop and a playground 5 minutes away by car, just come and ask us.

May we suggest in future that our customers do read through our site listing on PitchUP to see what we have onsite before they book with us. The Oak View Team.

Local attractions

Oak View Holiday Park is in prime position to traverse the best of Kent's countryside, coast, castles and well-known gardens – with Essex and its coast easily accessible too just to the north. Plenty of pedalling and perambulating opportunities are around the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, such as the 153-mile route of the North Downs National Trail through from Farnham to Canterbury, passing the White Cliffs of Dover. This takes in the 119-mile Pilgrims' Way, the supposed route of Thomas Becket from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral. Elsewhere in Kent, loads is on all year round in the 500 acres of parkland and formal gardens at lovely Leeds Castle (10 minutes’ drive), like free falconry displays, play areas, special events and making one's way intrepidly out of the castle maze. Also see Rochester Castle (20 minutes) on the east bank of the Medway for its 12th-century keep and stacks of historical info: the castle was sacked during the Peasants' Revolt, held for Henry III against the barons, and besieged (also because of barons) by bad King John. And of course, just next door is the Kent Showground, which hosts all sorts of events throughout the year (the most famed being the Kent County Show, which usually runs for three days in July).
