Farm field non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Unfortunately this time around it was not a positive experience

Disliked: This is our second and sadly last visit to the site after returning following a nice first trip back in May. Things were unfortunately not as good this time round.
We felt the facilities were not well maintained and the site / no. of pitches seemed to be oversold for the weekend. The noise went on late into the night both evenings we stayed. There were kids screaming and shouting going on until 1 am on Friday, which then started up again at 6 am on Saturday + Sunday mornings so not a good sleep at all. Others around us were also getting really fed up and saying it's starting to go down hill sadly. We tried to just get on with it as we were out for the day Saturday but we came back Saturday PM to find the field even busier with a family and two large tents set up practically on top of our camp, with no consideration of space.
We had to speak to management about the issue and they were really nice but there really wasn't a lot that could be done, ( only real option being that we move) due to the fact they had already squeezed two tents and two cars next to our camp and set up. I feel there needs to be someone present on site enforcing space between pitches when checking in if you have a busier than usual weekend. We both felt really uncomfortable and disappointed by the experience and this morning packed up and vacated site by 8 am. I understand this is a family campsite but the noise went on and on and tents were so closely pitched you could hear everything. It's also a safety issue with fire pits etc. being set up so close to other people's tents. The other downfall as mentioned were the facilities, we found only one of four showers working for a few hours on Saturday morning with a queue of people waiting. The toilets on the Saturday night and Sunday morning were unfortunately very unpleasant and not sanitary.

Farm Field non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked: Lovely place, big field just pitch where you want to, loads of fire pits all around to use & plenty of fields to walk the dog. Toilet block & shower block. Reasonably priced food truck on site run by the owners.
I’ll definitely be back 😊 and not a rip off price like many places are now !

Farm Field non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked: The side is quiet with loads of space.
Owners are friendly.
There was plenty fire pits to use and picknic benches.
There is an option to get some fresh food from 7:30am
Breakfast baguette was great and freshly made.
Toilet block is dated but clean.
Showers are outside but there is warm water.
Plenty space for kids to run and play.

Disliked: Loads of aeroplanes flying by basically every 2 minutes- a bit noisy
Farmyard is messy and unkept - as a welcome area isn't great.

Local attractions

First port of call around these parts simply has to be the excellent Hever Castle (20 minutes' walk or five minutes' drive): the childhood home of Anne Boleyn has plenty of attractions to keep you busy for a full day out, including a water maze, playgrounds and a fab series of summer events including things like jousting tournaments and open-air theatre shows. For a bit more on the local history front, head to Chartwell (15 minutes' drive), a long-term haunt of Winston Churchill, or to Penshurst Place (10 minutes), where you can tour the medieval manor or trot around the estate's 100 acres, taking in the lakes, adventure playground and woodland trails along the way. More of the past is on display in Chiddingstone (five minutes), a well-preserved Tudor village managed by the National Trust. Need something to keep the kids entertained? Edenbridge (10 minutes) has a well-maintained public leisure centre nearby if they've got excess energy to burn off, while trips to top local theme parks like Diggerland Kent (55 minutes) or zoos like the UK Owl and Raptor Centre (20 minutes) could also be in the offing.
