A short drive from Shanklin and Sandown Bay

This is such a pretty site – tucked in a quiet glen beside an unruffled duck pond, and embraced by bluebell woods full of red squirrels, badgers and woodpeckers – that you may never want to leave this peaceful little wildlife haven… But when you do manage to drag yourself away from Ninham Country Holidays, it’s just a short ride through gorgeous countryside to the safe, sandy beaches Shanklin and Sandown Bay. The Orchard pitching area has spacious, level landscaped pitches divided by hedging and mature specimen trees. Guests have access to modern bathroom facilities, with renewable technologies such as solar water heating and rainwater harvested flushing toilets. There's also an outdoor heated swimming pool at this park (open late May to early September, and operated on a regulated booking system). TV and games rooms are also on hand for keeping the kids busy in mid and high-season periods. A firm emphasis is placed on being nature-friendly, and all guests are expected to adhere to a strict recycling policy and the countryside code. Please note: well-behaved dogs are accepted for most of the year, but not during the school summer holidays. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on site.

Liked: A nice quiet location with lovely surroundings. Plenty of space on the tent pitch Plenty of shower and toilet cubicles which were always spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful Walking distance to shops/pub and not too far from Shanklin and Sandown.

Liked: Mooie ruime plaatsen! Mooi landelijk/natuurlijke uitstraling! We kregen een plek met mooi uitzicht, wel wat hoger gelegen waardoor ook winderiger maar dat hadden we er toch graag voor over. Neem in Engeland en dus ook on the Isle een windscherm mee! Wij waren er vóór de Engelsen zelf op vakantie gingen dus behoorlijk rustig en een schoon sanitair gebouw. Op onze laatste dag waren er veel meer gasten op de camping en dus ook minder schoon sanitair, dit ligt niet aan de schoonmakers overigens 😃 Mooie grasmat om je tent op te zetten!

Disliked: Vliegveld vlakbij, bij mooi weer veel vliegverkeer overdag over de camping, ik ben geluid gevoelig dus wel last van gehad. Neem een droogrek mee want een waslijn spannen tussen de bomen is niet de bedoeling! Ik vind dat niet erg maar had het graag van te voren willen weten. Ik had geen rek mee. Er was geen Wifi! Dat geeft niet maar wij waren daar niet op verdacht!

Liked: Absolutely brilliant. Spotlessly clean facilities. Immaculately kept grounds, perfect pitch. Great size of pitch, book what you need. Lots of space clean pool. Games room great if you need to entertain the older child on a damp day. 15 minute walk from supermarkets (choice of) and pub. Half hour stroll from the beach. Look no further if you want a quiet site on the isle of white. Will be seeing you again 👍

Liked: Friendly staff, clean and well presented facilities, lots of family activities (our baby went in a pool for the first time there), orchard was spacious and shady, you’re not rammed up against your neighbours like sardines in a tin. We loved it and we want to go back already!

Disliked: Can’t think of anything to dislike. Except maybe that we didn’t book a long enough holiday there.

Liked: We had a lovely stay at Ninham Farm, the staff were very friendly and the toilet block was very clean and well looked after.

Disliked: Dislike, is not what I would describe any part of the site. My only niggle was the drive up to your pitch ,which was long and in some areas bumpy. We didn’t have great weather while we were there or we would have done more walking( that obviously not a fault of the site). Most of the time we had to use the car.

Use PO36 9PJ to find the site - the drive is off the Newport Rd A3056. Arrivals from the Newport Rd: go past the park entrance and drive 400 metres to the supermarket roundabout. Turn back and continue up to the private lane (located on the left). From Ryde take the A3055 and turn onto the A3056 at Lake. Local attractions

The plentiful cycle tracks and footpaths mean it’s easy to start exploring the Isle of Wight’s diverse terrain of hills, woodland and white cliffs framing golden beaches. Not for nothing is this called the Garden Isle: Mediterranean plants thrive in the mild climate, and visitors can expect to spot a wide range of wildlife around and about. It’s no wonder Queen Victoria and her brood decamped here so frequently from smelly London (visitors can check out their seaside digs at Osborne House). Natural attractions aside, the island offers great watersports from its lovely beaches, as well as all manner of other athletic activities, and sights to suit all tastes. Culture vultures should try Carisbrooke Castle or one of the many museums, dinosaur hunters can track down the great beasts that used to roam the shores, fledgling zoologists will enjoy the many animal-based attractions, and that’s before we even get started on the scenic steam railway, glorious botanic gardens or rip-roaring theme parks…

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed during high season between 21/07 and 31/08.
Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Quiet hours must be respected between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m..
