General

Aarons Campsite is located in the scenic area of Cragg Vale, between Halifax and Hebden Bridge. This is a secluded family-friendly campsite located in an area of moors and fields within easy reach of local attractions. Within a mile and a half of the site, you will find shops and takeaways, as well as two village pubs.

Guests will pitch up in one of the available fields which are all easily accessible, flat and drained, ideal for first-timers, families and groups and those who wish to enjoy a stay in the Yorkshire Moors.

Aarons Farm can provide you with portable firepits and wood for your campfire (extra charge applies). They also have a larger fixed campfire available for group hire.

Facilities are simple: there are flush toilets and wash basins, water supply is from the farm's own, fresh, filtered spring.

The modest facilities were perfectly serviceable for our one night stay with our 5 year old son. Our first camping trip as a family.
The site is quiet, well situated, spacious and the gentleman (assuming owner(?)) was on hand should we require any thing.

We paid an additional £10 for a fire pit and bag of wood. Well worth it IMO. (The wood lasted the whole stay)

    Disliked:

**Not the fault of the site** but one group had a dog off lead all night which kept running up on, and barking at anyone walking with a torch to the toilet.
It would have been nice if these guys had observed the site's 'dogs on a lead at all times' policy.

Friendly atmosphere with owner making an effort to ensure we had everything we needed.
Site was safe and could see the children wherever they wanted to roam.
Liked the hay bails for the children to climb on.
    Camp fires were delightful.
Lovely walks and views starting from the campsite.
Nearest town less than 10 minutes drive with big supermarket and fish & chips.

    Disliked:

Entrance wasn’t obvious when arriving from the direction we did as signs are positioned for some reason for driving the other way, so overshot.
Toilet facility small bins were overflowing.
Bins at entrance way a bit of an eyesore and could possibly benefit from being in a contained area, possibly the other side of the gate.
Owners obviously spent time, money and effort making the toilets suitable, but the flush does let it down, and a bucket is positioned to use to add more water.
Water pressure at sink is not good so had to top up bottle to use to wash.

This is a beautiful little campsite in a gorgeous setting. The facilities are basic as advertised, but for one night's stay it was absolutely perfect. The owner is lovely and was extremely helpful and hospitable throughout our stay. Of the 2 fields to choose from we chose the smaller field which was very peaceful and we thoroughly enjoyed our night there. Are definitely planning our next visit back!!!!!

Lovely site with everything we needed. Enough space to pitch our tent and have a camp fire, and watch the stars. The village was just a short walk away with a shop and a couple of pubs. The views were just amazing.

The whole vibe of Aaron's campsite, the coming together of other families who never met before made it a fantastic weekend. The views and accessibility to the countryside entertained a family of 5 and our dog Hamish throughout. Highly recommended.

Level grassy field, beautiful location and views.

    Disliked:

toilets were not well kept, ran out of toilet paper every night, blocked toilet. drinking water source ran out on first night, very dirty next morning, and still not very clean-looking for the rest of the stay. not up front about having to pay for a fire bowl/logs in order to have a fire and wouldnt let us have a fire bowl without paying for logs even though we had gathered our own. didnt allocate pitches, after first night, campsite got really busy and we lost our vehicle parking space next to the tent. litter around edges of the campsite and overflowing bins at the entrance, limited recycling facilities.
