General

  • Family-friendly campsite
  • Campfires encouraged
  • Basic traditional camping experience

Aaron's Campsite is located in the scenic area of Cragg Vale, between Halifax and Hebden Bridge, in the lush green landscape of the Pennines.

It is a secluded family-friendly site in an area of moors and fields, within easy reach of local attractions. Aarons Campsite is on the outskirts of Hebden Bridge – a popular tourist area. The surrounding hills and valleys (including Stoodley Pike) have long been popular with trekking enthusiasts, whether for strolling along a riverside path, or for following stone causeways marking old packhorse routes – there is fab dog walking terrain everywhere you go.

Facilities are simple, for the stripped-down camping experience. The site owners can provide you with portable fire pits and wood for your campfire (for a small extra charge). They also have a larger fixed campfire available for group hire. The easily accessible fields are flat and drained – ideal for first-timers, families and groups.

Within a mile and a half of the site, you will find shops and takeaways, as well as two village pubs. Be sure to grab some grub for the barbecue, a surefire way to make friends on the site.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Friendly staff upon check-in and leaving. Site is ok although quite a few parties packed into what is a relatively small field. Easy to hire campfires and wood. Cheap and cheerful.

    Disliked:

As with other reviews inconsiderate campers. Loud heavy metal music on until the early hours with no action taken from site staff. Avoided portable w/c after first usage as no toilet roll, much better to use proper toilets in the woods.

Friendly camp site manager and lovely location. Easy to find and good quality, clean field as well as very clean portaloo.

    Disliked:

Totally inconsiderate fellow campers. Two groups were talking loudly, including using a lot of swear words, and playing music until at least 1.30am. I didn't manage to get any sleep until about 3am.

Location was quiet and away from the everyday stress of life. Plenty of places to walk and let the kids run around, pitches are a decent size and the kids love the fire pits on the night times.

    Disliked:

Nothing for a couple of days it was what we wanted, anything longer we would require a site with better facilities.
