Liked Nice walks from site. Plenty of hot water for showers.
Disliked Toilet blocks could do with updating but the shower’s had plenty of hot water.
Nothing that the site could do but the midges were really bad unable to sit outside after a certain time on a evening or first thing in a morning

A rather disappointing site.
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked A rather disappointing site. The forest was desimated by a storm a couple of winters ago and so the forest was very patchy and regeneration is not happening so some areas are being replanted.
The Pennine Way passes the site which is it's main benefit.
Disliked The site is old and very tired, it looks neglected. There are some signs of repair and upgrade but it just makes the rest appear even shabbier. Not enough to make my stay unpleasant.

From the manager: Possibly we were a Roman Army camp site , so obviously modernisation is out of the question, of course some sad people want Bath bought up to date in the Trump Tower way.
Here we try to fit in with nature ie buttercups for bees , etc.We are miles from shops , no clubs ,nearest pub four miles with the wind behind you.
If you want Kew Gardens go there, not here!
Luckily at my age I don’t have to take another tourer but as I like what I do and 9 and a half of our customers out of ten, are Happy decent people who I enjoy meeting, I will keep on in the Basil tradition !!

We absolutely love your pigs!!!! They did enjoy a tickle behind their ears...
