What customers say
This rural, peaceful campsite is highly praised for its stunning natural surroundings, abundant wildlife, dark skies, and excellent walking opportunities directly from the site. Guests highlight the friendly and helpful staff, spacious pitches, and superb dog-friendly facilities, including a large secure dog walking field and nearby river access. While some note that facilities are dated, they are generally found to be clean and well-maintained with good hot water. Its remote location means visitors should come prepared with supplies.

From the manager: Re showers etc
They are Functional, good pressure and hot,the controls ,shower heads were all replaced this January 26 New hand basins mixer tap February 26 .
The tiled floor is original Pax Roman ,as it’s for standing on ,what would change achieve? Same with ceiling .lights all replaced with low energy ones recently.
Ok I come from an age of waste not want not, rationing etc .You youngsters don’t be taken in by consumerism ,spend instead on caravaning

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked The whole site was well maintained. Some work being done on one of the building roof but overall great site.
Ali warden was fabulous. Very friendly and really knowledgeable about the area.
The kitchen area and the toilet / shower blocks were clean and well maintained. There was a microwave and kettle in the top kitchen block.
Overall had a lovely two night stay with great and amazing clear skies to see the stars, exactly what we wanted.
Also it is a dark skies area so remember a decent bright torch 🔦 especially if you need to use the loos or taking your furbabies for a walk after dark... honestly you city folk will thank us later 😁

Liked Nice area with great walks
Disliked Pitches were dirty and the site is in need of considerable TLC. No water available in off season months to rinse chemical toilet.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Pitches dirty we are in the wilds ,it hasn’t stopped raining what do you expect daily scrubbing? There is. Water in a tank very near waste point,!
Being well above sea level we freeze up .therefore facilities at top of the park are the only ones open.
We are in Englands Highlands ,no shops ,pub 4 miles away no takeaways.
Don’t expect Kew Gardens or similar
Read previous reviews ,from people who live in the real world and appreciate what we have here!!!!!
